I always go out on my birthday to sketch and walk...it was beautiful at the lake, the perfect day.

The Meadows are lovely...we sat beside the road and sketched. The pebble is one I bought at the visitors center--it symbolizes the shaman's hand, or healing.

I seem to have mis-dated my page, though! Heat really gets to me, after a run-in with heat exhaustion about ten years ago, so I have to time my outdoor activities in the summer with that firmly in mind. This night, the heat and humidity were marginal--I almost didn't go with Joseph to Rocky Hollow, but I was delighted I DID. The early-evening light made long shadows where I could hide... I often wear a damp kerchief around my neck when it's hot out...a trick my ancestors knew well…

Just plan to tweak this a bit more...because time was short, I simplified it to a vignette. In reality, there were grass and flowers below the window, and three different trellises on each side. I figured the window and the reflections were about all I could manage with people watching and talking! I'll probably do a bit more when I've had a chance to live with it, but won't try to add the things I no longer hae a resource for--I'd forgotten my OWN resource photos and had to work from one my…
