Nothing Special   »   [go: up one dir, main page]

It has been a busy year, full of brick shows, and building, and sorting bulk used LEGO purchases... which is my attempt at an excuse for why it has taken me so long to get to this set. This was released all the way back in 2023 as part of the first Ninjago Dragons Rising wave. With Dragon in the title of the series reboot, LEGO graced us with two large dragon based sets in that wave, as well as a couple of smaller dragons.

Rebrickable is under constant change. New set themes get added, parts are moved, rules can change. To keep you up to date and have all information in one place, we’ve started with a blog, the period depending on the amount of news we have to bring. The blogs will be tagged so you can get a list of them fast.

I have such fond memories of Stargate, both SG1 and Atlantis. I own all the DVDs, have watched them multiple times over, so you could say I'm a bit of a fan. For those who haven't heard of the franchise, the stargate can transport people over great distances to other planents. The US military begins interplanetary travel in a pre-space faring age, and accidently ticks off some bad guys in the process.

The botanicals range has proven quite popular with AFOLs. While we have had potted plants before, there is something extra special about the look of 10368-1 - Chrysanthemum and 10369-1 - Plum Blossom which made me desperate to check them out.

Have you ever been to a brick show? Many cities all over the world run regular (usually annual) brick shows where fans bring along sets or MOCs and put them on display for the public. These shows are a great way to get inspired, see large MOCs up close and personal, and chat to the builders who made them. There are often stalls where you can browse hundred of used minifigs, pick up old retired sets, or get some kits to light up your bricks.

I am a casual star wars fan. I've seen the original 6 movies, and some of the newer ones. I know Chewy is not an Ewok, and that baby Yoda's real name is Grogu, but I'm not an expert. I haven't memorised the timeline, I don't know the backstory of every character, I can't look at one of the many space ships and tell you which battles it's been in. Despite this the Tie-Interceptor has a very special place in my heart.

It has been far too long since I reviewed a Ninjago set. When I saw the box art for this one I knew it was time. The Dragon Stone Shrine made an appearance in the first half of season 2 of Ninjago Dragons Rising. The show version is a bit larger, but both resonate a sense of peace. Do good things come to those who wait?

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It's a transforming MOC by alanyuppie. This is actually not the first MOC I have built from this designer. One of his Mighty Dinosaur alts almost made it into the first Mini MOC Madness. Since then I have been looking for a MOC of his to review.

It is finally Technic's turn for some Mini MOC Maddness! I have built a decent quantity of technic (mainly mindstorms related) when I was younger, however in more recent years colourful system sets have been winning the battle for my attention. There are so many great Technic designers on Rebrickable, so today I will be looking at alternate builds for 42133-1 - Telehandler.

The year is 2020, the world is in lockdown. I am living alone and seperated from family and friends by a state border that up till now had been almost meaningless. Craving something more positive to replace my evening sessions of doom scrolling and refreshing covid stats pages, I see news that the next Animal Crossing game is coming out. That could work, I think as I look up if buying a video game and console counts as an "essential" reason to leave the house.
