Dedication
I dedicate this little literal work to my children because they are my strength of inspiration
in most of the things I do, and also to all those who play a huge significant role in my life.
Additionally, to those who direct and indirectly helped me to write this booklet.
Acknowledgement
First and foremost I thank Jehovah God for being always with me in my ups and downs. My
thank also goes to those who believed I would come up with this booklet.

As vogais classificacam-se em Orais e nasais. the vowels are classified in: oral vowels and

Example: at, vivia, uva, mar.
As vogais so nasais quando o ar sai ao mesmo tempo pela boca e pelas fossas nasais. the
vowels are nasals when the air gets out at the same time through the mouth and the
nostril.
Example: tem, la, tentamm, mim, um
Note: a nasalaco marcada pelo til (~) e pelo acrescentameto de n, ou de m antes ou
depois das outras consoantes. the nasalization is denoted by til (~) and by adding n or m
before or after other consonants

PLURAL

Note: normally the possessive adjectives (possessive pronouns in Portuguese) are followed
with a definite article the which in Portuguese are o, a, os, as when they are not followed
with a preposition which will be discussed later.
Meu o meu caderno
Minha a minha cama
In the third person of singular and plural, the possessive adjectives can change to:
Dele- (o) seu, (a) sua (his)
Example: o seu carro e lindo. (His car is nice)
Dela- (o) seu, (a) sua (her)
Example: a sua irm j foi embora. (Her is sister has gone away)
Deles- seus, suas (their)
Example: o pai deles vive em Luanda. (Their father lives in Luanda)
Delas- seus, suas (their)
Example: o carro delas foi comprado h dois anos atraz. (Their car was bought two years
ago)
So, dont confuse the usage of o seu, a sua, os seus, as suas. They can either be used for
men or women depending now on the nature of the noun, that is, feminine, masculine,
singular, plural.
If the noun sounds feminine in singular the pronoun to be used is [(a) sua]
If the noun sounds masculine in singular the pronoun to be used is [(o) seu]
Example: A Rosa conversou com o seu irmo sobre o assunto. (Rosa talked to her brother
about the issue).
Example: A Marta saiu com as suas duas irms. (Marta went out with her 2 sisters)
Example: Tuba estudante e o seu irmo jornalista. (Tuba is a student and his brother is
a journalist)

Negative form
In order for us to form the negative in any tense in Portuguese, we just need to use no
between the personal pronoun (eu, tu, ele, etc) and the verb.
Examples:
Eu no quero ir escola porque est a chover. (I dont want to go to school because it is
raining)
Eu no falo Ingls. (I dont speak English)
A minha prima no estuda. (My cousin doesnt study)
O meu pai no vive comigo. (My father doesnt live with me)
Interrogative Form
In order for a verb to be conjugated in interrogative form we just put the question mark at
the end of the sentence although we only notice that its a question in speech
Examples:
s Namibiano? (Are you Namibian?)
Tu sabes conduzir? (Do you know how to drive?)
Note that in Portuguese we can just state the verb without the subject pronoun (eu)
Eu sou bonita or sou bonita. (I am beautiful)
Eu no quero ir escola or no quero ir escola. (I dont want to go to school)
