This allergy was discovered when when was a toddler and snuck a peanut into his mouth which caused him to go into anaphylactic shock. Rushed to the hospital by his parents his life was saved but it was obvious that his life would have to be peanut free. Walter meets and falls in love with Greta Moussleman and together they raise 5 children which they feared share Walter's deadly allergy. Secretly the children discovered that the forbidden peanuts were not toxic. The family is shocked by Walter's death which is caused by ingesting 35 peanuts which had been ground up and mixed into Walter's morning oat meal. They accused Greta of poisoning him.
