Wagga Wagga is a city on the Murrumbidgee River in NSW The term "Wagga" in the Wiradjuri Aboriginal language is thought to mean crow. To create the plural, the Wiradjuri repeat a word, thus 'Wagga Wagga' translates to 'the place of many crows'. It's OK to call Wagga Wagga just 'Wagga', but it's not ok to do the same with Woy Woy or Bong Bong.
