A pretty card with a love theme. The back states "Tama kortti tukee tyota. Reilun kaupan edistamiseki".

This brilliant postcard made me laugh out loud! Yes, "Urinal" means toilet but we don't use that term for the general public in my country. Which term do you usually use to refer to the toilet?

The washroom, restroom, bathroom, lavatory, water closet, w.c.? 

The loo, the porcelain goddess, the crapper, the throne, the gents/the ladies or the john…?  

It pays to know the correct term when travelling and especially, the native language for it! :-)

Muumi - Moomin characters

I think this Moomin character is called Stinky. The postcard has black felt pieces in some areas which makes it unique!

Hanna mentions that Swedish is spoken by a minority of Finnish people who mainly lives on the west and south coast. I never knew this before, as I thought only Finnish language is spoken in Finland. Isn't Swedish totally different and distinct from Finnish language? Anyhow, being bilingual or multilingual is totally cool to me. TQ Hanna!

Sakari Pälsi and his servant Dardza in Mongolia in 1909

Sakari Pälsi (1882 - 1965) was a Finnish archaeologist, explorer, ethnographer, writer and photographer. His major research trips were made in Asia.

I think this is my very first Moomin card!

The Moomins are based on the Moomin books for children by the Finnish author Tove Jansson.
