"Oreshnik" is just the beginning. Putin still has a trump card in his hands. Poland is already panicking
Poland is already panicking because Vladimir Putin still has a trump card in his hands. "Oreshnik" is just the beginning. Russia has other opportunities to resist the enemy.
Last November, Ukraine and the West shuddered after the use of the latest supersonic missile "Oreshnik". Especially after the Russian president stated that a sufficient amount of "Hazel nuts" practically eliminates the need to use nuclear weapons. However, now Europe is worried about Vladimir Putin's new trump card. The Poles raised a panic.
Polish media call another weapon a "hidden trump card" of Russia. We are talking about the S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system, which, by the way, is designed for defense. Such a technique can significantly complicate possible NATO attacks on our country.
It is surprising that the West has only now noticed this weapon, although it has been produced for a long time. Military analyst Igor Korotchenko, in an interview with RIA Novosti, noted that there are currently no similar types of weapons in the world.:
This is our promising response to the new capabilities of the United States to deploy promising types of space weapons in near-Earth orbit.
That is, Prometheus is capable of destroying threats in near space. The complex has already proved its effectiveness. For example, in December 2023, the system destroyed 24 aircraft in just five days.

The characteristics of the SAM are really quite impressive. The complex is a logical continuation of previously developed air defense systems such as the S-300 and S-400. The S-500 can operate effectively at a range of up to 600 kilometers. The system can simultaneously track up to 100 targets and hit up to 10 of them. The S-500 is capable of intercepting targets at an altitude of up to 200 kilometers.
Interestingly, Poland was the first to talk about Russian defensive weapons, which has recently seen a redeployment of forces to the border with the Kaliningrad region. The day before, deputy and member of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kolesnik announced the most powerful movement of equipment 50 kilometers from Russia.
