- This disclosure relates to fall prevention devices.
- the upper surface of the upper flange of an H-shaped steel is placed in contact with the lower surface of the upper flange of another H-shaped steel, and they are arranged parallel to each other, and are sandwiched and integrated between a first abutment part and a second abutment part attached to a rod-shaped body, thereby preventing multiple H-shaped steels from tipping over.
- the fall prevention device described in Patent Document 2 uses rotatable clamps attached to both ends of nested pipes whose lengths can be adjusted to prevent multiple H-shaped steel beams from falling over by connecting and integrating multiple H-shaped steel beams together even when there is a difference in height.
- the objective of this disclosure is to provide a fall prevention device that has a simple structure, is easy to install, stabilizes the attachment state to the attachment member, and increases the ability of the attachment member to prevent tipping over.
- the present invention provides a fall prevention device comprising a rod-shaped member, a claw member having at least two pairs of claws attached to the rod-shaped member so as to be relatively movable along the longitudinal direction of the rod-shaped member, the claw members attached to the rod-shaped member so as to be relatively movable along the longitudinal direction of the rod-shaped member, and a position restricting member that restricts the position of the claws movably attached to the rod-shaped member in the longitudinal direction relative to the rod-shaped member.
- multiple workpieces can be easily connected by simply moving the claws along the rod-shaped member, clamping the workpiece with a set of claws, and restricting the position of the moved claws with a position restricting member.
- it is a simple structure in which multiple claws are movably attached to a single rod-shaped member and the position of the claws is restricted with a position restricting member.
- one workpiece can be clamped from both sides by a pair of claws. This makes it possible to stabilize the mounting state and increase the ability to prevent the workpiece from falling over.
- the claw portion has a tubular portion, and the tubular portion is slidably disposed on the rod-shaped member.

- the first claw portion 8 is made lighter by making the first fixing plate 10 and the first abutment plate 11 flat.
- the second abutment portion which is inclined by bending the first abutment plate 11, is formed to abut against the downward inclined surface of the upper flange portion 20 of the H-shaped steel 19, which is the member to be attached, as described below. Therefore, the attachment state to the H-shaped steel 19 can be stabilized. Because the first fixing plate 10 is perpendicular to the first abutment plate 11, it can support the first abutment plate 11 with sufficient strength in the direction in which force acts on it.

- the female thread portion 18 meshes with the male thread portion 6 of the rod-shaped member 2.
- the tubular portion 16 has a shape similar to that of a hexagonal bolt, with the outer circumferential surface being composed of six flat surfaces so that the cross section is a regular hexagon.
- the shape of the tubular portion is not limited to a regular hexagonal cross section, and may be an ellipse, a rectangle, a triangle, a square, a pentagon, a hexagon, an octagon, a rhombus, a parallelogram, or the like.

- H-shaped steels 19 are arranged in parallel with the underside of the lower flanges 21 resting on the ground. The position and spacing of each of the claws 7 of the fall prevention device 1 are adjusted so that they are located on both sides of the upper flanges 20 of the parallel H-shaped steels 19.
- the tip of the first claw portion 8 on one end of the rod-shaped member 2 is brought into contact with the edge of the upper flange 20 of the H-shaped steel 19. Then, the flat surface 5 on one side (the lower side) of the rod-shaped member 2 is brought into contact with the upper surface of the upper flange 20 of the H-shaped steel 19.
- the second claw portion 9 is moved along the rod-shaped member 2, and the upper flange 20 of the H-shaped steel 19 is sandwiched between the first claw portion 8 and the second claw portion 9.

- the fall prevention device 1 is firmly attached to the upper flange 20 with the rod-shaped member 2, the first claw portion 8, and the second claw portion 9 abutting against the upper flange 20.
- the corresponding pairs of second claw portions 9 are moved along the rod-shaped member 2 to clamp the upper flanges 20 of each H-shaped steel 19.
- the position control members 4 are rotated relative to each second claw portion 9 in the same manner as described above to regulate the position.
- the fall prevention devices 1 are firmly attached to the upper flanges 20 of the H-shaped steels 19 by the pairs of second claw portions 9. Then, by clamping the upper flanges 20 of all the H-shaped steels 19 by each pair of claw portions 7, all the H-shaped steels 19 can be integrated by the fall prevention device 1.
- the fall prevention device 1 has a simple configuration in which the claw portion 7 is slidably attached to the rod-shaped member 2 and the female thread portion 18 of the position restriction member 4 is engaged with the male thread portion 6 of the rod-shaped member 2.

- the length of the rod-shaped member 2 and the size of the claw portion 7 can be changed according to the number and size of the steel materials.
- the position regulating member 4 is configured such that the gripping portion 17 is fixed to the tubular portion 16, but as shown in FIG. 7, the gripping portion 17 may be attached to the support piece 16a protruding from the tubular portion 16 so as to be slidable in the axial direction of the gripping portion 17. If the gripping portion 17 can be positioned at two points on the opposite side protruding from the tubular portion 16, this is preferable in that the gripping portion 17 can be moved to a position that is easy to grip.
- the claw portion 7 is fixed, but as shown in Figure 8, it can also be configured to be rotatable around the support shaft 7a. With this, even if the workpieces to be attached are not arranged parallel to each other or are slightly tilted, the claw portion 7 can be rotated to clamp them from both sides. This makes it possible to further improve workability.

- the cylindrical body 13 of the second claw portion 9 may be split into two pieces that can be opened and closed around a rotation axis 13a, and the inner surface of the cylindrical body 13 may be pressed against the outer surface of the rod-shaped member 2 by tightening the cylinder 13 with fasteners such as bolts 13b and nuts 13c.
- the position of the cylinder (claw portion) may be restricted by inserting a wedge into the inside of the cylinder. The position may be restricted by other means.

Description
This disclosure relates to fall prevention devices.
Conventionally, devices for preventing H-shaped steel from falling over are known, for example, with the following configuration.
In the anti-tip device described in Patent Document 1, the upper surface of the upper flange of an H-shaped steel is placed in contact with the lower surface of the upper flange of another H-shaped steel, and they are arranged parallel to each other, and are sandwiched and integrated between a first abutment part and a second abutment part attached to a rod-shaped body, thereby preventing multiple H-shaped steels from tipping over.
The fall prevention device described in Patent Document 2 uses rotatable clamps attached to both ends of nested pipes whose lengths can be adjusted to prevent multiple H-shaped steel beams from falling over by connecting and integrating multiple H-shaped steel beams together even when there is a difference in height.
However, with the former anti-tip device, multiple H-shaped steel beams must be lined up with the top and bottom surfaces of the flanges in contact. This means that the preliminary preparations required to prevent the H-shaped steel beams from tipping over using the anti-tip device are cumbersome.
On the other hand, with the latter anti-tip device, the length of the nested pipes must be adjusted and the flange of the H-shaped steel must be gripped with a clamp, making the adjustment process tedious. Also, as the number of H-shaped steel pieces increases, the number of anti-tip devices that must be prepared also increases accordingly.

(Rod-shaped member 2)
The rod-shaped member 2 is rod-shaped. It is preferable that the rod-shaped member 2 has a circular shape in a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction (longitudinal direction) of the rod-shaped member. However, the cross section is not limited to a circular shape, and may have an elliptical, rectangular, triangular, square, pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal, rhombus, parallelogram, or the like shape in the cross section perpendicular to the axial direction (longitudinal direction) of the rod-shaped member.

The rod-shaped member 2 is composed of a threaded shaft extending from one end to the other end. A pair of parallel flat surfaces 5 (the bottom side is not shown in Figure 1) extending along the longitudinal direction are formed on the threaded shaft, removing part of the male threaded portion 6. One of the flat surfaces (the bottom side) is used for placing the member in surface contact with the upper flat surface of the flange of the H-shaped steel 19, which is the member to be attached, as described below. For this reason, only one flat surface 5 (on the bottom side) may be formed.
(Claw member 3)
The claw member 3 has at least two pairs of claws 7 attached to the rod-shaped member 2 so as to be relatively movable along the longitudinal direction. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, the claw member 3 has multiple pairs of claws 7 (two pairs of claws 7 are illustrated in FIG. 1). The claws 7 are configured in pairs so as to sandwich one end and the other end of the workpiece (for example, in the case of an H-shaped steel flange, the right flange and the left flange that extend from the height end of the web of the H-shaped steel to both sides of the web) so that the workpiece described later does not fall over. Note that the multiple pairs of claws 7 are configured to be movable to positions where they can each sandwich one workpiece. Being movable includes not only sliding movement as in this embodiment, but also being detachably fixed to any position.

Note that the multiple pairs of claws 7 are configured to be movable to positions where they can each sandwich one workpiece. Being movable includes not only sliding movement as in this embodiment, but also being detachably fixed to any position.
The claw portion 7 may be a combination of a first claw portion 8 and a second claw portion 9, or a combination of two second claw portions 9. In this embodiment, the first claw portion 8 is fixed to one end of the rod-shaped member 2. The second claw portion 9 is slidably positioned on the male thread portion 6 of the rod-shaped member 2.
A first claw portion 8 is fixed to one end of the rod-shaped member 2, and a second claw portion 9 is disposed on the other end of the rod-shaped member 2. In this embodiment, one first claw portion 8 is disposed on one end of the rod-shaped member 2, and three second claw portions 9 are disposed on the other end. Other combinations may also be possible in which all second claw portions (slidable claw portions) are used.
As shown in FIG. 4, the first claw portion 8 is composed of a first fixed plate 10 and a first abutment plate 11 fixed to the first fixed plate 10. The first fixed plate 10 is flat and consists of a fixed portion 10a that is directly fixed to one end of the rod-shaped member 2 by welding or the like, and an inclined portion 10b that extends obliquely from the fixed portion 10a. The fixed portion 10a and the inclined portion 10b form an inner edge 12 consisting of a first inclined edge 12a and a second inclined edge 12b. The first abutment plate 11 is flat and is bent along the first inclined edge 12a and the second inclined edge 12b to form a first abutment portion 11a and a second abutment portion 11b. The first abutment portion 11a and the second abutment portion 11b are fixed to the first inclined edge 12a and the second inclined edge 12b, respectively, by welding or the like, and are perpendicular to the first fixed plate 10.
In this way, the first claw portion 8 is made lighter by making the first fixing plate 10 and the first abutment plate 11 flat. The second abutment portion, which is inclined by bending the first abutment plate 11, is formed to abut against the downward inclined surface of the upper flange portion 20 of the H-shaped steel 19, which is the member to be attached, as described below. Therefore, the attachment state to the H-shaped steel 19 can be stabilized. Because the first fixing plate 10 is perpendicular to the first abutment plate 11, it can support the first abutment plate 11 with sufficient strength in the direction in which force acts on it.
As shown in FIG. 5, the second claw portion 9 is composed of a cylinder 13, a second fixed plate 14 fixed to the cylinder 13, and a second abutment plate 15 fixed to the second fixed plate 14. The cylinder 13 is arranged slidably around the rod-shaped member 2, i.e., on the outer periphery of the male threaded portion 6. The rod-shaped member 2 comes into contact with the male threaded portion 6 only at the most protruding part of the thread, and the contact area with the cylinder 13 is small and is not susceptible to frictional resistance. Therefore, the second claw portion 9 can be moved smoothly against the rod-shaped member 2 without applying much force. The second fixed plate 14 and the second abutment plate 15 have the same structure as the first fixed plate 10 and the second abutment plate 15 of the first claw portion 8, so their description will be omitted.
(Position restriction member 4)
The position restricting member 4 restricts the position of the claw portion 7, which is movably attached to the rod-shaped member 2, in the longitudinal direction relative to the rod-shaped member 2. The position restricting member 4 is configured to restrict the position of the claw portion 7. The position restricting member 4 is provided separately from the claw member 3 (claw portion 7). However, as described below, the position restricting member 4 may be provided integrally with the claw member 3 (claw portion 7). The position restricting member 4 may be configured to restrict the position of the claw portion 7 as part of the claw member 3.

As shown in FIG. 3, the position restricting member 4 is composed of a tubular portion 16 and a gripping portion 17. The tubular portion 16 has a female thread portion 18 formed on its inner circumferential surface. The female thread portion 18 meshes with the male thread portion 6 of the rod-shaped member 2. By rotating the tubular portion 16, the meshing position of the female thread portion 18 with respect to the male thread portion 6 changes, and the position of the position restricting member 4 can be moved in the longitudinal direction with respect to the rod-shaped member 2. The tubular portion 16 has a shape similar to that of a hexagonal bolt, with the outer circumferential surface being composed of six flat surfaces so that the cross section is a regular hexagon. However, the shape of the tubular portion is not limited to a regular hexagonal cross section, and may be an ellipse, a rectangle, a triangle, a square, a pentagon, a hexagon, an octagon, a rhombus, a parallelogram, or the like.
The grip portion 17 is composed of a portion which is welded and integrated to one flat surface of the tubular portion 16, and a portion which extends from the portion by bending at a right angle and is gripped by hand.

The fall prevention device 1 having the above-mentioned configuration is used to connect and integrate a plurality of attachment members and prevent them from falling over. The attachment members are preferably H-shaped steel. However, the attachment members may be, for example, H-shaped steel, I-shaped steel, T-shaped steel, Z-shaped steel, cross steel, angle steel, channel steel, etc. In this embodiment, an H-shaped steel will be used as an example.
As shown in FIG. 6 , the H-shaped steel 19 is a steel material having an H-shaped cross section, in which an upper flange 20 and a lower flange 21 are connected at their central portions by a web 22 .
The following describes how to use the fall prevention device 1, which is intended to prevent the H-shaped steel 19 from falling over.
Multiple H-shaped steels 19 are arranged in parallel with the underside of the lower flanges 21 resting on the ground. The position and spacing of each of the claws 7 of the fall prevention device 1 are adjusted so that they are located on both sides of the upper flanges 20 of the parallel H-shaped steels 19.
Once this preparation is complete, the tip of the first claw portion 8 on one end of the rod-shaped member 2 is brought into contact with the edge of the upper flange 20 of the H-shaped steel 19. Then, the flat surface 5 on one side (the lower side) of the rod-shaped member 2 is brought into contact with the upper surface of the upper flange 20 of the H-shaped steel 19.
Then, the second claw portion 9 is moved along the rod-shaped member 2, and the upper flange 20 of the H-shaped steel 19 is sandwiched between the first claw portion 8 and the second claw portion 9. The gripping portion 17 is then grasped to rotate the position regulating member 4. When the position regulating member 4 rotates, a centrifugal force is applied by the protruding gripping portion 17. Therefore, if the gripping member 17 is grasped and a rotational force is applied, the position regulating member 4 will continue to rotate due to inertial force even if the gripping portion 17 is released.
In this way, the engagement position with the male thread portion 6 of the rod-shaped member 2 is changed, and when the position restriction member 4 abuts against the second claw portion 9, the gripping portion 17 is grasped and tightened, and the position restriction member 4 presses the second claw portion 9 against the edge of the upper flange 20 to restrict its position. In this state, the first abutment portion 11a of the first abutment plate 11 of the first claw portion 8 abuts against one edge of the upper flange 20, and the second abutment portion 11b abuts against one downward inclined surface of the upper flange 20. Also, the first abutment portion 15a of the second abutment plate 15 of the second claw portion 9 abuts against the other edge of the upper flange 20, and the second abutment portion 15b abuts against the other downward inclined surface. Therefore, the fall prevention device 1 is firmly attached to the upper flange 20 with the rod-shaped member 2, the first claw portion 8, and the second claw portion 9 abutting against the upper flange 20.
For the other H-shaped steels 19, the corresponding pairs of second claw portions 9 are moved along the rod-shaped member 2 to clamp the upper flanges 20 of each H-shaped steel 19. In this case, the position control members 4 are rotated relative to each second claw portion 9 in the same manner as described above to regulate the position. As a result, the fall prevention devices 1 are firmly attached to the upper flanges 20 of the H-shaped steels 19 by the pairs of second claw portions 9. Then, by clamping the upper flanges 20 of all the H-shaped steels 19 by each pair of claw portions 7, all the H-shaped steels 19 can be integrated by the fall prevention device 1.
In this way, the fall prevention device 1 according to this embodiment has a simple configuration in which the claw portion 7 is slidably attached to the rod-shaped member 2 and the female thread portion 18 of the position restriction member 4 is engaged with the male thread portion 6 of the rod-shaped member 2. The preliminary preparation is simply to arrange the H-shaped steel 19 in parallel. Then, the installation work can be easily completed by moving the claw portion 7 along the rod-shaped member 2 and rotating and tightening the position restriction member 4. Moreover, all of the H-shaped steel 19 can be individually fixed and integrated by a pair of claw portions 7. This makes it easy to obtain a state in which the H-shaped steel 19 has excellent fall prevention properties.
