Description

METHOD AND SYSTEM TO DISPLAY SCREENSHOT WITH A FLOATING ICON TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure generally relates to the field of electronic devices, and more particularly to a method and system to display a screenshot with a floating icon.
BACKGROUND
This section is intended to provide information relating to the technical field and thus, any approach or functionality described below should not be assumed to be qualified as prior art merely by its inclusion in this section.
With the advancement in the communication technology, the “communication device” or “user equipment” or “mobile station” with various new/advanced features is used for performing a variety of tasks such as for entertainment, for communication, for capturing media, for capturing screenshot and the like. While accessing the communication device, people show interest in various images, videos, articles, or any relevant information which appears on the screen and capture the same using the screen capture technology. Thus, the people can capture the screenshot of any interesting content and later on can see the captured screenshot to recall the instances. However, during the recall of the instances, the people have to perform multiple tasks to navigate to the desired content associated with the screenshot. For instance, capturing a screenshot of an article later on require a person to open that particular application/website using the limited details (such as page details, author details) available in the screenshot for the reading of the full article, which ultimately takes much time of the person. This further makes it difficult for the user to recall the instances of multiple screenshots saved in the gallery of the communication device of the user and lead to follow multiple steps to reach the desired content that further takes much time of the user.
Hence, in view of these and other existing limitations, there arises an imperative need to provide an efficient solution to overcome the above-mentioned limitations and to provide a method and system to navigate the user to the desired content associated with the screenshot in a quick and efficient manner.
SUMMARY

The System [100] includes the Processing Unit [104] . The Processing Unit [104] is connected with the Transceiver Unit [102] . The Processing Unit [104] communicates with the Transceiver Unit [102] to get the details of the requested screenshot. The Processing Unit [104] further communicates with the Transceiver Unit [102] to collect a set of data associated with the screenshot in real-time. The set of data includes but is not limited to the metadata of the screenshot, location of the screenshot, path of the screenshot, source of the screenshot, URL address associated with the screenshot, resolution of the screenshot, date and time of the screenshot, size of the screenshot, location coordinates, device information, device owner information.
The Processing Unit [104] is then configured to capture the screenshot along with the set of data in response to the input configured to capture the screenshot. The set of data associated with the screenshot get stored in the storage Unit [108] for further analysis and for the generation of a floating icon for the captured screenshot. Thus, the Processing Unit [104] analyse the set of data associated with the screenshot to generate the floating icon for the captured screenshot. In a non-limiting embodiment, the set of data is analysed to determine the source of the screenshot and to fetch the address link i.e., URL of the screenshot from where the screenshot was taken. Using the metadata such as address/URL/intent of the screenshot, the Processing Unit [104] generate the floating icon. For instance, if the screenshot is captured from a social network application, then the Processing Unit [104] will analyse the metadata of the screenshot and will identify the social network application as the source of the screenshot based on the URL address of the screenshot. Therefore, based on the analysis of the set of the data, the Processing Unit will generate a floating icon related to the social network application used for capturing the screenshot. Thus, the Processing Unit [104] generate the floating icon for the screenshot based on the source and type of the screenshot and embedded/insert the link of the source of the screenshot in the generated floating icon. The Processing Unit [104] is further configured to generate the floating icons for the screenshot captured from online media (such as a website) or for the screenshot taken offline (such as setting feature) . In an example, taking a screenshot of a webpage will have a ‘web’ floating  icon and taking a screenshot of the brightness setting feature will have a floating icon related to the icon used for controlling the brightness of the screen.
The Processing Unit [104] is further configured to generate floating icons specific to the partial screenshot. For instance, in a partial screenshot, the Processing Unit [104] collects the metadata specific to the portion covered under the partial screenshot. For instance, the user can take a partial screenshot in the device notification panel for only an incoming Message, let’s say an SMS received from a contact called ‘User B’ , then taping on the floating icon of the screenshot will take the user B directly to the Message/SMS detail (read) screen. Further, in case of partial screenshot, the Processing Unit selects the viewgroup (Messages view context) covered in the particular partial screenshot and will trigger the callback method on Notification view. The notification view can define the method and return an Intent to be associated with the partial screenshot. The data returned from the callback method will be saved with the screenshot image as meta-data. This meta-data can be used to generate floating icon specific to the source of the partial screenshot and will navigate the user directly to the source of the partial screenshot such as will navigate to the user to the message application in the event the screenshot of the message was taken from the notification panel.
The Processing Unit [104] is further configured to add multiple floating icons to captured screenshots in an event the captured screenshot contains the content from various sources. For instance, the user captured the full screenshot of the notification panel having notifications from multiple applications. In such case, the Processing Unit [104] may either generate the floating icons based on the portion of the notification such as the notification icon will get generate for the portion having a maximum area in the notification panel, or the Processing Unit [104] may generate the floating icons for each of the notifications displayed in the captured screenshot and then later on the user can tap on the required floating icon accordingly.
The system [100] includes the Display Unit [106] . The Display Unit [106] is connected with the Processing Unit [104] . The Display Unit [106] is configured to display the screenshot along with the floating icon to the user. The floating icon facilitates to navigate the user to the source of the screenshot in response to the tap or click on the floating icon. As used herein, “floating icon” represents the source of the screenshot and comprises the source link of the screenshot and tapping on the floating icon navigates the user to the source of the screenshot. The floating icon also helps the user to understand the context where the user will navigate upon clicking on the floating icon. Further, the floating icon is generated for the online and offline source of the screenshot. For example, the Processing Unit [104] helps the user to capture instances for both online (e.g. web links) and offline (device applications/navigation/micro-links) . For instance, the user can take a  screenshot within device Settings > Display > Color Mode, then taping on the floating icon of the screenshot of color mode would directly take the users to Color Mode Screen Setting Options (i.e. under device display settings) .
The Display Unit [106] is further configured to display each of a plurality of captured screenshots in a scaled-down tile view in the gallery to quickly allow the user to navigate to the source of the selected screenshot simply by clicking on the corresponding floating icon even without even opening the particular screenshot. Further, the plurality of the screenshot is displayed with the floating icons in the grid view to quickly recall the context of the screenshot. In a non-limiting embodiment, each of the plurality of screenshots is divided into two portions i.e., a lower portion and an upper portion. The lower portion of the screenshot includes the floating icon to navigate the user to the source of the screenshot while clicking on the upper portion of the screenshot further opens the screenshot in a full-screen mode to read the content of it without navigating to the source of the content/screenshot. Further, the position of the floating icon may vary or may be defined by the user as per the user requirement. After displaying the screenshot with the floating icon, the user can perform multiple tasks such as but not limited to add a reminder to the screenshot, can add a shortcut of the screenshot on the home screen, can share the screenshot with other users after removing one or more metadata associated with the screenshot for security reasons.
The Processing Unit [104] is further configured to create a shortcut icon or thumbnail icon of the captured screenshot having the floating icon on the home screen page based on the user requirement. The Processing Unit [104] first identifies the launcher icon for the screenshot based on the metadata of the screenshot and based on the generated floating icon for the screenshot and then adds the identified launcher icon of the screenshot on the home screen of the device. The launcher icon takes screenshot visual reference in the background with the representative icon at the forefront for users to have an easy cognition of the context. For example, the user needs to perform payment every month for the dish tv, thus the user can capture a screenshot of mail having details for the dish tv such as customer id, reference id, serial number and then can add the shortcut of the screenshot on the home screen to directly access the details the dish tv to ease the recharge process.
The Processing Unit [104] is further configured to insert one or more reminders or any text on the captured screenshot in response to the input of the user to add the reminder, any text. For example, the user can add login credentials to the screenshot of the net banking account which will help the user to perform quick login on internet banking without searching for the login credentials from different sources. Also, the user can add a  reminder to the screenshot taken of the credit card payment link to get an alert of the due date and to perform payment before the due date by directly navigating to the payment gateway.
The Processing Unit [104] is further configured to display one or more privacy options to the user to either retain or selectively remove at least some data from the set of data at the time of sharing the captured screenshot. The Processing Unit [104] is configured to display a list of metadata to the user and receive the input of the user regarding the removal of one or more metadata from the list of metadata at the time of sharing the captured screenshot. For instance, the user can remove the device information, location information from the metadata of the screenshot and can also add a password to the captured screenshot to enhance the security and privacy of the screenshot while sharing the screenshot with other users.
The system [100] includes the Storage Unit [108] . The Storage Unit [108] is configured to store the screenshot along with the set of data associated with the screenshot in real-time. Further, the Storage Unit [108] is configured to store the data required for the implementation of the present disclosure.
Referring to Fig. 2, an exemplary method flow diagram [200] , depicting a method for displaying a screenshot with a floating icon. As shown in Fig. 2, the method begins at step [202] . At step [204] , the method comprises receiving, at a Transceiver Unit [102] , an input configured to capture a screenshot of image data being displayed on the screen. The input configured to capture the screenshot is one of gesture-based input, voice-based input, touch-based input, keypad-based input. The input is received to capture one of full screenshot, partial screenshot, selective screenshot, customized screenshot, extended screenshot.
Next, at step [206] , the method comprises collecting, by a Processing Unit [104] , a set of data associated with the screenshot in real-time. The set of data comprises but not limited to metadata of the screenshot, location of the screenshot, path of the screenshot, source of the screenshot, URL address associated with the screenshot, resolution of the screenshot, date and time of screenshot, size of the screenshot, location coordinates, device information.
Next, at step [208] , the method comprises capturing, by the Processing Unit [104] , the screenshot along with the set of data in response to the input configured to capture the screenshot. Next, at step [210] , the method comprises analysing, by the Processing Unit [104] , the set of data associated with the screenshot to generate a floating icon for the captured screenshot. Next, at step [212] , the method comprises displaying, by a Display Unit [106] , the screenshot along with the floating icon to the user. The floating icon navigates the user to the source of the screenshot in response to tap or click on the floating icon. The floating icon represents the source  of the screenshot and comprises the source link of the screenshot and tapping on the floating icon navigates the user to the source of the screenshot. The floating icon is generated for online and offline source of the screenshot. Further, the screenshot along with the floating icon is displayed in a scaled-down tile view in the gallery to quickly navigate the user to the source of the screenshot.
The method further comprises creating, by the Processing Unit [104] , a shortcut/launcher icon of the captured screenshot having the floating icon on the home screen page based on the user interest. The method further comprises displaying, by the Display Unit [106] , a list of metadata from the set of data to the user for receiving the input of the user regarding the selection of the one or more metadata from the list of metadata and for the removal of the selected metadata from the captured screenshot for security reasons. Based on the request, the method allows the creation of a copy of the screenshot after removing the selected metadata for the purpose of sharing with other users. The method further comprising, inserting, by the Processing Unit [104] , one or more reminders or any text to the captured screenshot in response to input or request of the user to add the reminder or any text. The method further comprises storing, by a Storage Unit [108] , the screenshot along with the set of data associated with the screenshot in real-time. After storing and displaying the screenshot along with the floating icon, the method terminates at step [214] .
FIG. 3 illustrates an exemplary user interface diagram [300] , depicting a scenario of displaying a screenshot with floating icon, in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. The user interface diagram [300] includes a first user interface [302] , a second user interface [304] , a third user interface [306] , and a fourth user interface [308] . The first user interface [302] depicts the home screen page with an installed gallery/photo application to view various albums such as captured photos, favorites photos, all photos, screenshots and the like. Upon clicking on the photo application on the home screen, the system displays the second user interface [304] . The second user interface [304] display various options associated with the photos such all photos, camera photos, favorites photos, screenshot, screenshot + and the like. Further upon clicking on the screenshot+ option (as an example) , the system displays the third user interface [306] . The third user interface [306] displays various screenshots captured by the user. The third user interface represents multiple screenshots saved or stored in the screenshot+ folder. The third user interface [306] depicts that each of the screenshot is displayed on a ‘full-page’ but scaled-down view within the screenshot+ album. This makes it very easy for the user to seamlessly browse the images (screenshot) as one may not necessarily need to open each screenshot but browse the large tiles grid view, recall the context (visual cognition is easy) , and with one easy tap (over grid view or single full-screen view) effortlessly revisit the article on the web. As also shown in  the third user interface diagram [306] , a full scaled-down image is shown of each of the screenshots with a corresponding floating icon at the bottom portion of the screenshot. Upon clicking on the floating icon, the user gets directly navigates to the source of the screenshot as also shown in the fourth user interface diagram [308] . The fourth user interface diagram [308] represents the view of the page of the website from where the screenshot was captured. For instance, the fourth user interface diagram [308] represents the article on the website of which the screenshot was captured by the user earlier. Thus, clicking on the floating icon navigate the user to the actual address of the screenshot while clicking on any region other than the floating icon will display a full view of the screenshot to the user. Further, the floating icon changes as per the context and metadata of the screenshot which indirectly helps the user to know the source of the screenshot. For instance, the floating icon can be a web-based icon in case the screenshot is captured of an article from any website or the floating icon can be an application based icon in case the screenshot is captured from any application or the floating icon can be an icon representing setting of the phone in case the screenshot is taken of any setting feature of the device.
FIG. 4 illustrates an exemplary method flow diagram [400] , for generating and displaying a floating icon for a screenshot, in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. The invention encompasses that the method begins at step 402 where the presence of metadata is checked for the requested screenshot. The request is received for capturing the screenshot from the user based on the input of the user. For instance, the user found an article on a website and do not have time to read the article, thus to see the article later, the user sends a request for capturing of the screenshot of the article by using gesture-based input. After receiving the input for the screenshot, the method performs another step to collect the associated metadata by checking the presence of various types of metadata in the requested screenshot. Thus, at step 404, the method determines if the metadata associated with the address or URL of the content is found or not. In case the required metadata is not found, the method moves to step 406, where the screenshot is captured and displayed to the user without the floating icon. In case the required metadata is found, the method moves to step 408, wherein the screenshot is captured and the floating icon for the captured screenshot is generated based on the category of the metadata. For instance, floating icon for online and offline content is generated based on the type of URL present in the metadata of the screenshot. Next, at step 410, the method displays the screenshot to the user with the generated floating icon. Thereafter, at step 412, the user directly navigates to the source (online or offline) of the screenshot based on clicking or tapping on the floating icon of the screenshot. For instance, a web-based floating icon will navigate the user to the actual address of the content from where the screenshot was captured.
FIG. 5 illustrates an exemplary method flow diagram [500] , for creating shortcuts of the screenshot on home screen page, in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. The invention encompasses that the method begins at step 502 where the presence of metadata is checked for the requested screenshot. The request is received for capturing the screenshot from the user based on the input of the user. For instance, the user found an article on a website and do not have time to read the article, thus to see the article later, the user sends a request for capturing the screenshot of the article by using gesture-based input. After receiving the input for the screenshot, the method performs another step to collect the associated metadata by checking the presence of various types of metadata in the requested screenshot. Thus, at step 504, the method determines if the metadata associated with the address or URL of the content is found or not. In case the required metadata is not found, the method moves to step 506, where the screenshot is captured and displayed to the user without the floating icon. In case the required metadata is found, the method moves to step 508, wherein the screenshot is captured and the floating icon for the captured screenshot is generated based on the category of the metadata. For instance, a floating icon for online and offline content is generated based on the type of URL present in the metadata of the screenshot. Next, at step 510, the method displays the screenshot to the user with the generated floating icon. Thereafter, at step 512, the method receives a request of the user for the creation of the shortcut icon for the captured screenshot. In an embodiment, the user can send a request for the creation of the shortcut icon for at least some portion of the captured screenshot. After receiving the request for the shortcut icon, the method moves to step 514 where the method performs identification of the appropriate and relevant launcher icon for the captured screenshot based on the metadata of the screenshot and/or based on the generated floating icon of the screenshot. After identification of the launcher icon for the screenshot, the method moves to step 516 to add the identified launcher icon on the home screen of the user device for quick and easy navigation to the source of the screenshot.
In an example, the user captured screenshot of an SMS received from another user. Here, based on the request of the user for the shortcut icon for the captured screenshot, the system adds a launcher icon on the home screen for the captured screenshot, where the launcher icon display the image of the another user in the backdrop and an SMS icon in the forefront so that the user can easily identify the context at any time just by looking at the launcher icon of the screenshot available on the home screen. On clicking the launcher icon, the system takes the user to the exact message thread making it easy for the user to locate the particular message out of the multiple messages received from another user.
FIG. 6 illustrates an exemplary method flow diagram [600] , for removing selected metadata while sharing screenshot with other users, in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. The disclosure encompasses that the method begins at step 602 where the presence of metadata is checked for the requested screenshot. Thus, at step 604, the method determines if the metadata associated with the address or URL of the content is found or not. In case the required metadata is not found, the method moves to step 606, where the screenshot is captured and displayed to the user without the floating icon. In case the required metadata is found, the method moves to step 608, wherein the screenshot is captured and the floating icon for the captured screenshot is generated based on the category of the metadata. For instance, a floating icon for online and offline content is generated based on the type of URL present in the metadata of the screenshot. Next, at step 610, the method displays the screenshot to the user with the generated floating icon. Thereafter, at step 612, the method receives a request of the user for sharing of the captured screenshot. Based on the request of the user for the sharing of the captured screenshot, the method moves to step 614 where the method displays a list of metadata associated with the captured screenshot from the set of data. In an example, the list of metadata includes device information, location information, device owner information, image information and the like.
Next, at step 616, the method receives input of the user regarding the selection of one or more metadata from the list of metadata for the removal of the selected metadata. In an embodiment, the user can either select one or more metadata from the list for the removal of the selected metadata or may retain all the metadata associated with the screenshot while sharing the screenshot with other users. Further, the method allows the user to choose an option of adding a password to the captured screenshot to enhance the privacy of the screenshot. Next, at step 618, the method creates a copy of the captured screenshot after the removal of the selected metadata and adding of the password (key) on the screenshot for safety. Thereafter, at step 620, the copy of the captured screenshot with the limited metadata is shared with other users based on the request of the user to share the captured screenshot with other users.
FIG. 7 illustrates an exemplary method flow diagram [700] , for inserting reminders to the captured screenshot, in accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure. The invention encompasses that the  method begins at step 702 where the presence of metadata is checked for the requested screenshot. Thus, at step 704, the method determines if the metadata associated with the address or URL of the content is found or not. In case the required metadata is not found, the method moves to step 706, where the screenshot is captured and displayed to the user without the floating icon. In case the required metadata is found, the method moves to step 708, wherein the screenshot is captured and the floating icon for the captured screenshot is generated based on the category of the metadata. For instance, a floating icon for online and offline content is generated based on the type of URL present in the metadata of the screenshot. Next, at step 710, the method displays the screenshot to the user with the generated floating icon. Thereafter, at step 712, the method receives a request of the user for adding a reminder to the captured screenshot. For instance, the user is looking to add the reminder or text to the captured screenshot for receiving an alert on the mentioned date and time to perform the pending task. Next, at step 714, the method adds the reminder to the captured screenshot based on the request and based on the information provided by the user such as date, time, note/text. Thereafter, at step 716, the method alerts the user as per the reminder (such as on a defined date/time) and also navigates the user to the source of the screenshot upon tapping on the corresponding floating icon of the captured screenshot.
In an example, a user can easily create reminders, add text to a captured screenshot to help in day-to-day tasks such as the user can take the screenshot of a credit card/postpaid phone bill incoming SMS and add a reminder specific to the amount and last date. The reminder accordingly alerts the user and tap on the floating icon directly navigates the user to the specific SMS that may have been lost in-box. Similarly, the reminders can be added for various tasks such as attending webinars, buying groceries and many more, making life easier for the user.
Furthermore, the one or more aspect of the present disclosure relates to a user equipment for displaying a screenshot with a floating icon. The user equipment includes a system [100] . The system is configured to receive an input configured to capture a screenshot of image data being displayed on a screen. Next, the system is configured to collect a set of data associated with the screenshot in real-time. Next, the system is configured to capture the screenshot along with the set of data in response to the input configured to capture the  screenshot. Next, the system is configured to analyse the set of data associated with the screenshot to generate the floating icon for the captured screenshot. Thereafter, the system is configured to display the screenshot along with the floating icon to the user, wherein the floating icon navigates the user to the source of the screenshot in response to tap or click on the floating icon.
While considerable emphasis has been placed herein on the disclosed embodiments, it will be appreciated that many embodiments can be made and that many changes can be made to the embodiments without departing from the principles of the present disclosure. These and other changes in the embodiments of the present disclosure will be apparent to those skilled in the art, whereby it is to be understood that the foregoing descriptive matter to be implemented is illustrative and non-limiting.
