端子金具13は、導電性の金属板を曲げ加工等して形成される。図4に示すように、端子金具13は、ベース部13A、軸部13B、バネ部13C、接触部13D、箱部13E等を有している。ベース部13Aは、平板状をなし、板厚方向を左右方向に向けて配置されている。ベース部13Aの前後方向中央部には、上向きに延出する延出部13Hが設けられている。延出部13Hの後端部は、右向きに屈曲して伸びている(図6参照。)。ベース部13Aの前後方向両端部の下側には、互いに前後方向に離れる向きに突出する一対の突出部13Fが設けられている。ベース部13Aは、ハウジング12のキャビティ15に形成された一対のスリット15Aに前後方向両端部が差し込まれることによってハウジング12に固定される。
回路基板保持部材63に収容された状態の回路基板62をハウジング12の上方から挿入空間C2に進入させる。さらに、挿入空間C2への回路基板62の進入を進めると、端子金具13の挿入空間C3に回路基板62が挿入される(図7参照。)。このとき、端子金具13の上端に形成された第1傾斜部13Q又は第2傾斜部13Tに回路基板62の下端に位置する縁部63Dの傾斜面63Gが接触することによって、回路基板62の下端部は、挿入空間C3に案内される。挿入空間C3へ回路基板62の進入を進めると、弾性接触部13Kは、撓み変形した状態で、回路基板62の導電部65に弾性的に接触する。そして、回路基板保持部材63の縁部63Dが挿入空間C3の下端部(奥部)に到達する。こうして、ハウジング12への回路基板62の組付けが完了する。
回路基板保持部材63の把持部63Cを把持して、回路基板保持部材63及び回路基板62をハウジング12から離脱させる。すると、挿入空間C3に挿入された回路基板62は、挿入空間C3から離脱し、回路基板62の導電部65に弾性的に接触していた弾性接触部13Kは、元の姿勢に弾性復帰する(図3、4参照。)。
今回開示された実施の形態は全ての点で例示であって制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。本発明の範囲は、今回開示された実施の形態に限定されるものではなく、請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味及び範囲内での全ての変更が含まれることが意図される。
上記実施形態の場合、S字部の一端部側が上向きに膨らむようにU字状に湾曲し、S字部の他端部側が下向きに膨らむようにU字状に湾曲しているが、S字部の一端部側が下向きに膨らむようにU字状に湾曲し、S字部の他端部側が上向きに膨らむようにU字状に湾曲していてもよい。この場合、S字部の他端部側は、ヘミング曲げによって連結部を形成することが考えられる。また、上向き又は下向きにU字状に湾曲する数は3つ以上であってもよい。

- ハウジングと、
前記ハウジングに固定されるベース部、前記ハウジングに組付けられる基板に電気的に接触する接触部、及び前記ベース部と前記接触部との間に設けられ、前記接触部を変位可能に支持するバネ部を有する端子金具と、
を備えるカードエッジコネクタ。 - 前記バネ部を収容する箱部を備える請求項1に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。
- 前記箱部は、前記バネ部を介して前記ベース部に連結し、
前記箱部と、前記ベース部との間には、隙間が設けられている請求項2に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。 - 前記隙間は、前記バネ部による公差吸収方向に直交する方向に空いている請求項3に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。
- 前記隙間は、前記バネ部による公差吸収方向に平行な方向に空いている請求項3又は請求項4に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。
- 前記接触部と前記バネ部とにつながる係止部を備え、
前記係止部は、前記箱部に係止している請求項2から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。 - 前記ベース部の板厚方向は、前記バネ部による公差吸収方向に直交する請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。
- 前記バネ部は、S字部を有する請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。
- 前記接触部は、前記ハウジングへ前記基板を組み付ける組付け方向と直交する方向に突出し、前記基板に弾性的に接触する弾性接触部を有し、
前記バネ部と、前記弾性接触部とは、前記組付け方向と同じ方向に並んでいる請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項に記載のカードエッジコネクタ。
