Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for controlling a polyimide skeleton structure and a method for producing polyimide.
- Polyimide having properties such as transparency, sufficient film toughness, low dielectric constant, and high glass transition temperature are used for liquid crystal alignment films, electrical insulating films in various electronic devices, interlayer insulating films and protective films for semiconductor elements, and substrates for liquid crystal display elements. Widely used in organic electroluminescence (EL) display element substrates, electronic paper substrates, solar cell substrates, optical waveguide substrates, heated article conveyance belts, electrophotographic fixing belts or intermediate transfer belts, etc. Yes.
- EL organic electroluminescence
- a useful compound for polyimide raw materials is 1,2,4,5-cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride. Polyimide produced using this compound is likely to have high transparency, low dielectric constant, and high toughness.
- 1,2,4,5-Cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride can be obtained by various methods, and by any method, it is represented by the following formula (A) which is a cis form (1S, 2R, 4S , 5R) -cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride is easily obtained. This is presumably because (1S, 2R, 4S, 5R) -cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride has the most thermodynamically stable steric structure (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
- the polyimide obtained by reacting (1S, 2R, 4S, 5R) -cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride and diamine is (1S, 2R, 4S, 5R represented by the following formula (B): ) -Cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride has a skeletal structure (sometimes referred to as “cis-type structure”).
- R represents a divalent organic group derived from a diamine component.
- a polyimide having a cis-type structure has a low viscosity, so that there is a limit to the film thickness that can be formed. That is, to form a thin film, it is necessary to further dilute the coating solution, but the dilution rate is limited due to the low viscosity. In addition, when a thick film is to be formed, it is necessary to concentrate the coating solution, but this is not practical. On the other hand, if a coating liquid having a certain degree of viscosity is obtained, the range of dilution rate can be widened or the coating can be performed in a high viscosity state, so that the above problem can be solved.
- a polyimide manufactured using 1,2,4,5-cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride can be made to have a high viscosity without changing its composition and molecular weight, it can be used from a thin film to a thick film.
- the field of application can be expanded.
