以下、通信システムは、RAN等の無線ネットワーク、バックホールネットワーク(Backhaul Network)、コアネットワーク等の複数レイヤのネットワークを含むものとする。このような通信システムでは、各レイヤのネットワークの通信特性あるいは性能が他のネットワークの通信特性あるいは性能の影響を受ける可能性がある。例えば、無線ネットワークの通信特性あるいは性能を改善するために無線ネットワークに関するパラメータに基づいて同レイヤの機器を制御しても、他レイヤのネットワークの影響により、期待される通信特性あるいは性能が得られない可能性がある。
図1に例示するように、制御装置1は、バックホールネットワーク3、コアネットワーク4等を含むバックボーンネットワークの状況(たとえば輻輳状況、あるいはその他パラメータ)に基づいて、基地局2を制御する。一例として、制御装置1は、輻輳が発生しているバックボーンネットワークと接続している基地局2の配下の移動端末を他の基地局2にハンドオーバーさせる。バックボーンネットワークの輻輳状況だけでなく他のパラメータに基づいて基地局2を制御することも可能である。
図2は、第1の実施形態の他のシステム構成の例を示す。図2のシステムでは、基地局2が有するデジタルベースバンド信号処理を行う機能と、アナログ無線周波数(RF:Radio Frequency)信号処理を行う機能とが、ベースバンド処理部21(以下、BBU21)と無線部22(以下、RRH22)とに分離され、ネットワーク23を介して互いに接続される。
図3は、制御装置1の構成例を示す。制御装置1は、インターフェース10および制御部11を含む。
本発明の第2の実施形態によれば、制御装置1は、様々なパラメータに基づいて無線ネットワークを制御することができる。たとえば、制御装置1は、ネットワーク全体の状況に基づいて、無線ネットワークを制御することができる。なお、第2の実施形態は、上述した第1の実施形態に適用可能である。
図5は、第2の実施形態のシステムの構成例を示す。本実施形態による制御装置1は、バックホールネットワーク3に関するパラメータに基づいて、無線ネットワークを制御する。図5の例では、制御装置1は、バックホールネットワーク3の負荷に関するパラメータに基づいて無線ネットワークを制御するが、バックホールネットワーク3の負荷以外のパラメータを用いることも可能である。例えば、制御装置1は、バックホールネットワーク3の通信帯域、バックホールネットワーク3で用いられる通信媒体の種別等に基づいて、無線ネットワークを制御することも可能である。通信媒体の種別は、例えば、光ネットワークリンク、無線ネットワークリンク等である。
図7は、第2の実施形態のシステムの他の構成例を示し、制御装置1は、コアネットワーク4に関するパラメータに基づいて、無線ネットワークを制御する。図7の例では、制御装置1は、コアネットワーク4の負荷に関するパラメータに基づいて無線ネットワークを制御するが、コアネットワーク4の負荷以外のパラメータを用いることも可能である。例えば、制御装置1は、コアネットワーク4の通信帯域、コアネットワーク4を運営する通信オペレータの種別等に基づいて無線ネットワークを制御することも可能である。制御装置1は、コアネットワーク4とのインターフェース10を介して、パラメータを取得する。
図9は、第2の実施形態の他の構成例を示し、制御装置1は、コアネットワーク4に関するパラメータとして、MME(Mobility Management Entity)40の負荷を用いる。MME40は、LTE(Long Term Evolution)システムのコントロールノードであり、端末の認証処理、基地局間でのハンドオーバー等を管理する。
本発明の第3の実施形態では、制御装置1により制御される無線ネットワーク装置の構成例が示される。第3の実施形態は、上述の第1の実施形態、第2の実施形態のいずれにも適用可能である。
図12は、図11に例示された基地局2の構成例を示す。基地局2は、制御インターフェース200、制御部201およびX2インターフェース202を含む。基地局2の制御部201は、制御インターフェース200を通して制御装置1により制御される。X2インターフェース202は、他の基地局2との間に設定されたインターフェースである。
次に、制御装置1がBBU21とRRH22との接続関係を切り替える場合の無線ネットワーク装置の構成例を説明する。
図15、16および17は、制御装置1が、光伝送等の物理レイヤ(レイヤ1)で、BBU21とRRH22との接続関係を切り替える例を示す。
図18、19は、制御装置1が、BBU21とRRH22との間の接続リンクを切り替える他の例を示す。
本発明の第4の実施形態によれば、制御装置1は、無線ネットワークを論理的に分割するための所定のパラメータ(例えば、ネットワークオペレータの種別)に基づいて、BBU21とRRH22との接続関係を切り替える。制御装置1は、複数の利用者により無線ネットワークが共有された場合であっても、各利用者により利用される無線リソースを仮想的に分割できる。無線リソースが仮想的に分割されることにより、制御装置1は、例えば、無線ネットワークにおけるセキュリティを高めることができる。なお、第4の実施形態は、上述の第1-3の実施形態のいずれにも適用可能である。
本発明の第5の実施形態による制御装置1は、バックホールネットワーク3、コアネットワーク4等の状況に基づいて、BBU21のリソースを制御することができる。例えば、制御装置1は、バックホールネットワーク3あるいはコアネットワーク4の状況に基づいて、BBU21を増設(Install)もしくは減設(Uninstall)することが可能である。第5の実施形態では、仮想マシン上で動作するソフトウェアによりBBU21の機能が実現されるので、制御装置1は、BBU21のリソース制御を実行可能である。すなわち、制御装置1は、BBU21の機能を有するソフトウェア(例えば、仮想マシン)を増設若しくは減設することで、BBU21のリソース制御を実行することができる。

Claims (14)
- 基地局が無線部とベースバンド処理部とに分離された第一のネットワークを介してアクセスされる第二のネットワークに関するステータスを取得する第一の手段と、
前記ステータスに基づいて、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する第二の手段と
を備えることを特徴とするネットワーク制御装置。 - 前記第二の手段は、前記無線ネットワークのベースバンド処理部の少なくとも1つと前記第二のネットワークとの接続関係が切替可能となるように、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項1のネットワーク制御装置。 - 前記第二の手段は、前記第一のネットワークと前記第二のネットワークとの間の通信性能の劣化が抑止されるように、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2のネットワーク制御装置。 - 前記第二の手段は、利用可能な通信リソースが所定の閾値以上の前記第二のネットワークと接続するための前記ベースバンド処理部のリソースを増設する
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項のネットワーク制御装置。 - 前記第二の手段は、通信負荷が所定の閾値以下の前記第二のネットワークと接続するための前記ベースバンド処理部のリソースを増設する
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項のネットワーク制御装置。 - 前記第二の手段により増設された前記ベースバンド処理部と前記無線部とが接続されるように、前記ベースバンド処理部と前記無線部との接続関係を制御する第三の手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項のネットワーク制御装置。
- 基地局が無線部とベースバンド処理部とに分離された第一のネットワークを介してアクセスされる第二のネットワークに関するステータスを取得し、
前記ステータスに基づいて、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する
ことを特徴とするネットワーク制御方法。 - 前記無線ネットワークのベースバンド処理部の少なくとも1つと前記第二のネットワークとの接続関係が切替可能となるように、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項7のネットワーク制御方法。 - 前記第一のネットワークと前記第二のネットワークとの間の通信性能の劣化が抑止されるように、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項7または8のネットワーク制御方法。 - 利用可能な通信リソースが所定の閾値以上の前記第二のネットワークと接続するための前記ベースバンド処理部のリソースを増設する
ことを特徴とする請求項7乃至9のいずれか1項のネットワーク制御方法。 - 通信負荷が所定の閾値以下の前記第二のネットワークと接続するための前記ベースバンド処理部のリソースを増設する
ことを特徴とする請求項7乃至10のいずれか1項のネットワーク制御方法。 - 前記第二の手段により増設された前記ベースバンド処理部と前記無線部とが接続されるように、前記ベースバンド処理部と前記無線部との接続関係を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項7乃至11のいずれか1項のネットワーク制御方法。 - 基地局が無線部とベースバンド部とに分離された通信システムであって、
前記無線部と前記ベースバンド処理部とを含む第一のネットワークを介してアクセスされる第二のネットワークに関するステータスを取得する第一の手段と、
前記ステータスに基づいて、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する第二の手段と
を備えることを特徴とする通信システム。 - コンピュータに、
基地局が無線部とベースバンド処理部とに分離された第一のネットワークを介してアクセスされる第二のネットワークに関するステータスを取得する処理と、
前記ステータスに基づいて、前記ベースバンド処理部に割り当てるリソースを制御する処理と
を実行させることを特徴とするプログラム。
