Abstract
Advertising card provided on its entire surface or part of it with a grid of longitudinal and transversal lines adapted to define a plurality of strips and permit the selective precise detachment of the strips, in such manner that each strip is rolled to form the filter of a rolled cigarette.
Description
Description
Advertising card also usable as filter for rolled cigarettes.
The present patent application relates to an advertising card that is also usable as filter for rolled cigarettes.
The invention has been devised in order to remedy a problem that is faced by those who distribute information or advertising messages on cards, coupons, plates, tickets or other similar supports made of semi-rigid paper.
Reference is made to the fact that the individuals who are given the information or advertising supports tend to throw them away immediately, without reading the message they contain.
In such a case, the expectations of those who spend time and money to provide information or advertising messages to potentially interested individuals are frustrated.
The specific purpose of the present invention is to create the necessary conditions so that the individuals who are given an information or advertising support made of semi-rigid paper are induced to keep it for a reasonably long time and, most importantly, read its contents.
Within such a logic principle, the specific purpose was to find a motivation able to induce individuals to keep the information or advertising supports.
In such a perspective, it has been devised to use a phenomenon that is gaining more and more popularity. Reference is made to the habit of rolling cigarettes, which is adopted by an increasing number of individuals, rather than buying cigarettes in traditional packets.
In order to roll cigarettes the user must have a pack of rolling tobacco, a pack of cigarette paper and a block of cards, which can be separated by tearing, each of them being provided with tearing lines.
In view of the above, the user can selectively remove single strips from each of said cards and roll them in spiral to form the filter for a rolled cigarette.
A dose of tobacco is placed on the cigarette paper and a filter is placed at one end of the paper. Then the paper is rolled into a traditional cylindrical cigarette.
Starting from such a consideration, it has been devised that the paper support used to provide an information or advertising message can consist in a card from which various strips can be selectively removed in order to become filters for rolled cigarettes.
As a matter of fact, an individual who is interested in using such a paper support to obtain filters for rolled cigarettes will keep the paper support and will use it until it is finished.
Likewise, when the user decides to make a filter for a rolled cigarette, he cannot avoid reading the information or the advertising message contained in the paper support.
In other words, the specific purpose of the present invention is to provide a card for the selective removal of strips used as filter for rolled cigarettes, which contains information or advertising messages and makes it very probable, if not absolutely certain, that the information or advertising messages are read by the users.
In view of its limited cost, the card of the invention can become a gadget that is distributed free of charge to potentially interested users. Of course, such a free of charge distribution will increase the probability that such a card is largely and favorably received by smokers.
Another purpose of the present invention is to make sure that the strips removed by smokers from the card of the invention to make the filter for rolled cigarettes are not harmful for the user's health.
For this reason, the information or images reproduced on the card of the invention, and more precisely on each of said removable strips, are printed with food grade ink that creates no health risks for smoker who inhale the smoke produced by the rolled cigarette through the strip (after the strip has been rolled to form a filter).
It must be noted that such an inventive solution can be realized according to different embodiments, which are equivalent from the technical- functional viewpoint, as illustrated in detail below.
For explanatory reasons, the description of the invention continues with reference to the attached drawings, which only have an illustrative, not limiting value, wherein:
- Fig. 1 is a plan view of a first embodiment of the new card used as filter for rolled cigarettes
- Fig. 2 is a plan view of a second embodiment of the card of the invention - Fig. 3 is a plan view of a third embodiment of the card of the invention.
Referring to Fig. 1 , the card of the invention (1 ) is provided on its entire surface with a grid of tearing lines, which are preferably microperforated lines, which include a longitudinal line (LL) and four transversal lines (LT).
Such a grid of tearing lines generates ten selectively removable strips (S1 , S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9, S10), which are adapted to be rolled in order to form the typical cylindrical tips that are used as filters for rolled cigarettes.
It must be considered that according to the first embodiment of the invention the entire surface of the card (1 ) is used to print information or advertising messages or images.
In view of the above, all the removable strips (S1 -S10) form the print surface for said messages or images, at least on one side.
For this reason, the entire surface of the card (1 ) is printed with food grade ink.
As mentioned, food grade ink does not create health risks for smokers, when they put the filter in their mouth, after rolling each one of the strips (S1 -S10), and inhale the smoke produced by the tobacco contained in the rolled cigarette.
It is worthless saying that according to the first embodiment of the invention, by removing the strips (S1 -S10) the user will progressively "destroy" the surface of the card (1 ) and the information or advertising message printed on it.
For a better graphic representation, the surface of the removable strips (S1 -S10) is shown with a grid of thin diagonal lines in the aforementioned figures.
For this reason the entire surface of the card (1 ) shown in Fig. 1 is covered by the grid of diagonal lines, being entirely formed of said removable strips (S1 -S10).
Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of the card of the invention (1 A), wherein the removable strips (S1 -S6) only cover a part of the entire surface.
Therefore, the card (1 A) includes a lateral area (AL) that is not covered by said tearing lines (LL, LT) and that is consequently not "destroyed" when the user removes the strips progressively and selectively.
In view of the above, the surface of the lateral area (AL) remains intact until the last of the strips (S1 -S6) is removed, and consequently maintains the readability of the information or advertising message printed on it as long as possible.
Finally, Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment of the card (1 B), which is likewise inspired by the decision to leave a predefined area (AC) of the card (1 B) intact until the last of the removable strips (S1 -S6) is detached.
Also in this case, a similar area (AC) is not covered by the tearing lines (LL, LT), with the only difference that - compared to the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 - said area (AC) covers the central area of the card (1 B) and the removable strips (S1 -S6) form a perimeter frame around the central area.
With reference to the second (1 A) and third embodiment (1 B) of the card of the invention, it must be noted that the areas (AL, AC) adapted to remain intact are printed with traditional inks (and not with food grade ink), given the fact that none of their parts is adapted to become the filter for a rolled cigarette.
In order to show such a peculiarity, in Figs. 2 and 3, the background of the areas (AL, AC) adapted to remain intact is white.
