Abstract
The invention makes available a measurement device for measuring a radiation dose of an electromagnetic radiation, in particular X-ray radiation, given to a patient, with a dose measurement field. This dose measurement field has a multiplicity of pixels, which are preferably connected in a matrix shape and can at least be switched together to form a relevant measurement area adapted to the irradiated patient. In the dose measurement device according to the invention, the measurement area is read out in real time by a read-out device. It is thus possible, even during the measuring procedure, to regulate the radiation source in order to avoid an overdose in the patient. The dose measurement device according to the invention can be used with any desired electromagnetic rays, in particular with high-energy electromagnetic rays, for example gamma rays or X-rays. In addition, the dose measurement device according to the invention can be used both for diagnostic appliances and also for therapeutic appliances, in particular radiotherapy appliances.
