Abstract
The invention relates to a sonotrode (18) for connecting to an ultrasonic vibration transducer (2, 3) having a connection section (4), which extends along a first axis (17) and is fastened or connected to the vibration transducer (2, 3) by means of a first end (21), the connection section (4) being made to vibrate almost exclusively along the first axis (17) by the ultrasonic vibration transducer (2, 3), in particular for use in the medical technology field. The sonotrode is characterized in that, at the distal end of the connection section (4), a transverse element (6) extending along a second axis (20) is arranged in the vicinity of the proximal end (23) of the transverse element, and a sleeve (5) extending along a third axis (8) for introducing ultrasonic vibrations into a processing area is arranged on said transverse element (6) at an offset along the second axis (2). The second axis (20) is arranged substantially perpendicular to the first axis (17), the third axis (8) is arranged substantially perpendicular to the second axis (20) and substantially parallel to the first axis (17), and the sleeve (5) extends to the side of the transverse element (6) opposite the connection section (4). The proximal junction point (14) is now offset from the proximal end (23) of the transverse element (6) such as to form a proximal projection (25), the proximal junction point (14) is offset from the distal junction point by a distance (d2), the distal junction point (15) is offset from the distal end (24) by a distance (d3) such as to form a distal projection (26), the total length of the transverse element (6) corresponds to an integer multiple of half the wavelength (λ/2) of an axial ultrasonic natural vibration of the transverse element (6) and/or an integer multiple of half the wavelength (λ/2) of an ultrasonic bending natural vibration of the transverse element (6), and the third distance (d3) corresponds to an integer multiple of half the wavelength (λ/2) of the axial ultrasonic natural vibration or a quarter of the wavelength (λ/4) of the ultrasonic bending natural vibration.
