Abstract

The invention is a new kind of road-rail vehicle, by which different tasks on the track superstructures of railroad lines can be implemented simultaneously and particularly rationally, by modular employment of installation devices with appropriate attachments.

Description

RAOD-RAIL VEHICLE WITH FRAMEWORK FOR MODULAR EMPLOYMENT OF SERVICE EQUIPMENT FOR RAILWAY TRACK SUPERSTRUCTURES.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to railroad track maintenance, and more particularly to a vehicle for carrying out service tasks, with the capability of running on roads and rerailing, thus working on rails or building or repairing it. For the purpose of carrying out service and repair in a rational way, a framework is mounted in the back of the vehicle for carrying different service modules.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
For assembly and service on track superstructures of railroad lines, special vehicles are known for different applications, like e.g. screwing machines for the release and accurate strutting of rail attachments, crushed stone distribution and - turning mechanisms, cablecasters for electrification and the installation of signal and control lines, etc.
Hitherto these machines are mostly separate and partly self-propelled as to the railway system given.
However, also service units are well-known, which are conceived as road-rail vehicles, which can independently be attained, in order to get to the individual places of work within a building site with several sections, or several building sites within the railway system without relying on railway tracks.
This is particularly important, if due to uneven building progress, damaged railway track or other railway vehicles blocking the track, the approach to the place of work on the railway is interrupted.
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED
The employment of individual, different rail-mounted vehicles for building and maintenance therefore require pedantic routing with appropriate scheduling to finish each work procedure. However, close schedules require fluxional successions. PRIOR ART
First attempts to liquefy the successions and to tighten time frames are found in patent applications for a quick change of wheel system for track and road as in.... and... , as 5 well as in procedures to the faster rerailing of appropriate vehicles, as in.... and....
These, however, could only make a partial improvement.
n SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
10
In order accomplish works rationally and time-savingly, it is the subject of the here disclosed invention to design service machinery in modules which, depending upon setting of tasks, can be combined so to interdigitate working steps for 15 to avoid otherwise necessary change and ranking of vehicles and associated
extra works.
INVENTIVE STEP
20
In order to achieve this, the modules mentioned are fit into a road-rail vehicle, that comprises the usual elements of power head and wheel sets, together with a profiled framework or a platform with recesses, into which those devices are inserted -preferably in succession of their employment- and latched and con- 25 nected to the necessary supply lines.
The area between power head and rear wheel set of said road-rail vehicle is
30 extended for that purpose, preferably by a framework, the length of which may be determined by the number of applicable equipment sets and practical considerations.
This framework is subdivided by crossbeams, so to form uniform recesses for
35 insertion of the equipment modules, and contains connections for the necessary supply lines.
In a further embodiment of the here disclosed invention, instead of a framework 40 with cross beams, a platform with appropriate recesses for the devices and for access to the track body is implemented. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 covers a side view of the entire road-rail vehicle with some exemplary modules to be mounted and Fig 2 demonstrates where and how the modules can be inserted into the framework of the vehicle.
It is understood, that the framework -and with it the entire vehicle- may be constructed shorter or longer, depending upon application, according to the number of modules to be applied.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 shows in a side view, the power head 2 of the road-rail vehicle 1 with the operator's cab, the drive unit 3, the front (propelled) road wheel set 4 and the lowerable track wheel set 6, with its hydraulics 5 as well as the basic framework 7 with its cross beams 8, and the rear road wheel set 9 and its track counterpart 10
Above, some applicable modules are outlined: Track cleaning machine 11, track grinding device 12, cable moving unit 13 and screwing robot 14 (here shown on an installed position).
Fig. 2 shows a top view of the same road-rail vehicle with the framework 7 and the cross beams 8.
The raster for inserting and latching the modules 15 to 20 can be recognized, wherein the modules can be arranged by craning, in a succession that would al- low optimum workflow.
