Abstract
Back light sign board with a light glowing only though required area discloses the cost effective method with two layers of sign face instead of a single layer of flex sign face in backlight sign boards. Front layer is of any backlight flex with an additional black opaque vinyl or opaque black pasted on it from behind. This vinyl or opaque black is reverse cut as per required glowing area which allows light to pass only through cut section of black opaque vinyl or opaque black and restricts the light passing through entire sign face. Restricted sign area glow reduces number of lights and accordingly reduces the cost of light fixtures along with its reoccurring power consumption. This is more useful where expensive light fittings such as LED lights are to be used.
Description
COMPLETE SPECIFICATION
TITLE - BACK LIGHT SIGN BOARD WITH A LIGHT GLOWING ONLY THROUGH REQUIRED AREA
PREAMBLE OF INVENTION- This invention in particular describes the nature of the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention is in the field of providing back light sign board with a light glowing only through the required area of the sign board using two layers of sign face instead of a single layer of flex sign face.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
The already available sign boards in the market include roving light sign boards, sliding light sign boards, recording sheet and illuminating sign board, honeycomb sign board etc. However, the present invention discloses the back light sign board with a light glowing only through the required area which changes its mood from formal and sober in day time to attractive & colorful in night time.
l
WO/2008/105594 discloses the display of letters and pictures in different colours, engraved on a transparent plate, by illuminating light from the lamps of various kinds on the four edges of the plate, using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). It also shows moving pictures when implemented on a few plates laid one upon another. Utilizing the characteristic of light, refraction and reflection, light is illuminated through the colour sheets, which are adhered and set on two to four places on the edges of the transparent plates, onto the surface of the plates.
US7150119 discloses a weather resistant honeycomb laminated sign board panel , for use in sign manufacturing. The honeycomb sign board panel displays a message through a dark vinyl display layer through a novel lamination and routing process in which a message is cut through the vinyl layer and into a light coloured core. The core layer is made of high molecular weight, high density polyethylene having a plurality of channels.
The disadvantages with the above mentioned patent application WO/2008/105594 is that they require very high cost investment as programmable logic controller, so many lights etc. The disadvantages with the above mentioned patent application US7150119 is that the core layer requires high molecular weight, high density polyethylene having a plurality of channels. These disadvantages are removed by the present invention as it provides the back light sign board with a light glowing only through the required area which assures reduction in initial cost and return on investment and also the number of lights being used is reduced. Further, such reflection feature can be only possible with the use of Aluminum cutting with special lighting Shapes as per alphabets for which cost of the same is very high per Square Feet. But with the new printing
technology and arrangements of present invention the cost reduces 90% per Square Feet.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to provide back light sign board with a light glowing only through the required area of the sign board using two layers of sign face instead of a single layer of flex sign face.
It is further an object of the invention to make the restricted area glow by placing opaque black printing or black vinyl only behind the glowing area of the sign board.
It is yet another object of the invention to reduce number of lights by way of placing the said vinyl exactly and only behind the glowing area of sign board.
It is another object of the invention to reduce the initial and return of investment cost of the said sign board.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention discloses back light sign board with a light glowing only through the required area of the sign board. Two layers of sign face instead of a single layer of flex sign face is used in the present backlight sign board. Front layer is of any backlight flex with additional black opaque vinyl pasted on it from behind. This vinyl is reverse cut as per required glowing area. This act allows light to pass only through cut section of black opaque vinyl and restricts the light
passing through entire sign face. The same result can be achieved by using opaque black printing done on desired area on back side of flex instead of using black vinyl. Making restricted sign area glow, the number of lights is reduced by way of placing them exactly and only behind the glowing area of sign board. This reduces the cost of light fixtures and along with its reoccurring power consumption.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention discloses back light sign board with a light glowing only through the required area of the sign board. In this invention, two layers of sign face instead of a single layer of flex sign face in backlight sign boards. Front layer is as usual of any backlight flex but additional black opaque vinyl pasted on it from behind. This vinyl is reverse cut as per required glowing area. This act allows light to get pass only through cut section of black opaque vinyl and restricts the light passing through entire sign face. The same result can be achieved by using opaque black printing done on desired area on back side of flex.
Restricted sign area glow reduces number of lights and accordingly reduces the cost of light fixtures along with its reoccurring power consumption. This is more useful in case of expensive light fittings such as LED lights. Time period of return on investment is reduced up to 90%.
As shown in the Figure - 1, the entire sign board changes its view from formal in day time and colorful in night. To achieve this, the back side of front face is to be worked on using the following methods. As shown in Figure - 2, front face is printed or vinyl is pasted as per design at front of back side of front face. Black opaque Vinyl is reverse cut back by making sure the cutting is exactly done at the portion from where light is desired to be passed. It is correctly pasted on the back side of the front face. Once dried, flex is ready for installation.
According to an embodiment of the invention as shown in the Figure - 3, front face is printed or vinyl is pasted as per design at front of back side of front face. The same flex is printed with opaque black ink from behind with same design reversed and by way of matching crop marks exactly. Once dried, flex is ready for installation.
According to another embodiment of the invention as shown in the Figure - 4, back side of the front face is completely printed with black opaque ink or paint. Front face is printed or vinyl is pasted as per design at front of back side of the front face. Vinyl is reverse cut is exactly to the portion from where light needs to be passed to get desired result. Black opaque ink is removed out from desired cut area with acetone or any other ink remover. Unwanted vinyl pasted at the back is taken out. Flex is ready for installation.
While this invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments and the drawings, but, on the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and variations within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Many permutations and combinations between front of the front face and back of the front face can be designed to achieve fantastic sign boards.
