Description

Description
OVEN WITH A VENTILATING DEVICE
[0001] The present invention relates to an oven comprising a fan and a ventilating device providing the electronic elements to be cooled.
[0002] In ovens, the electronic elements situated in the control panel are cooled by means of a cooling fan and a ventilating device disposed at the upper side of the casing enclosing the cooking chamber. The fan furthermore speeds up the discharge of the hot and humid air passing from the chimney to the ventilating device during the cooking process. If the cooling fan operates more than necessary for keeping the electronic elements within the desired temperature limits, the heat in the cooking chamber is discharged to the outside and energy consumption increases. If the cooling fan operates less, then the electronic elements cannot be cooled as required and moreover the cooking time is prolonged and cooking quality decreases since sufficient amount of humidity cannot be sucked from the cooking chamber.
[0003] In the state of the art United States Patent No. US5500508, a self cleaning pyrolytic oven is explained. The air flow passing from the exhaust opening is automatically adjusted by means of a throttle disposed over the exhaust opening of the oven.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven comprising a fan and ventilating device providing the electronic elements to be cooled and wherein loss of heat from the cooking chamber to the outside is prevented.
[0005] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention and explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a ventilating device disposed in the space at the upper side of the cooking chamber and that provides the discharge of air sucked from the inside of the oven by the fan to the outside from the outlet opening and a separator that extends from the outlet opening towards the inside of the ventilating device in the horizontal direction.
[0006] The separator separates the front portion of the ventilating device
extending to the outlet opening into two parts being the bottom exhaust duct situated at the bottom side and the upper exhaust duct situated at the upper side.
[0007] The chimney providing the hot and humid air in the cooking chamber to be discharged extends from above the cooking chamber upwards in the vertical direction and opens to the upper exhaust duct by crossing the bottom exhaust duct transversely.
[0008] A movement mechanism and a flap that is moved upwards/downwards by the movement mechanism are disposed at the end of the separator on the side whereat the fan is located. The flap opens and closes the inlets of the bottom and upper exhaust ducts on the side the fan is located by moving upwards and downwards.
[0009] The control unit provides the air blown by the fan to be delivered to the bottom exhaust duct or the upper exhaust duct by moving the flap depending on the data received from the humidity sensor disposed in the cooking chamber.
[0010] If the amount of humidity in the cooking chamber detected by the humidity sensor is below a predetermined limit value, the control unit provides the upper exhaust duct to be closed and the bottom exhaust duct to be opened by moving the flap upwards.
[001 1] If the amount of humidity in the cooking chamber detected by the humidity sensor is above a predetermined limit value, the control unit provides the bottom exhaust duct to be closed and the upper exhaust duct to be opened by moving the flap downwards.
[0012] In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises an
arcuately shaped air guide disposed above the chimney, extending into the upper exhaust duct, at least partially closing the upper side of the chimney outlet and a suction hole arranged on the air guide. The air guide increases the speed of the discharged air and hence the suction effectiveness in the chimney by narrowing the air flow area in the upper exhaust duct.
[0013] In the oven of the present invention, the electronic elements in the control unit are provided to be effectively cooled and the hot and humid air is sucked from the inside of the cooking chamber to be discharged outside only when required by means of the double exhaust ducted structure and the flap that opens/closes the exhaust ducts and saving in energy is provided by preventing heat loss.
[0014] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0015] Figure 1 - is the schematic view of an oven comprising double exhaust ducts.
[0016] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:

[0017] Oven (1 ) comprises an exterior body (2), a cooking chamber (3) wherein the cooking process is performed, a door (4) providing access into the cooking chamber (3), a front panel (5) situated at the upper side of the door (4), a control unit (6) disposed behind the front panel (5) containing the electronic elements, a space (7) arranged between the exterior body (2) and the cooking chamber (3), a ventilating device (9) disposed at the upper side of the cooking chamber (3), having an outlet opening (8) opening to the outside surrounding from between the door (4) and the front panel (5), a fan (10) disposed inside the ventilating device (9) and providing the air aspirated from the space (7) to be discharged to the outside from the outlet opening (8) by delivering it to the ventilating device (9) and a humidity sensor (1 1) disposed in the cooking chamber (3).
[0018] The oven (1 ) of the present invention comprises:
[0019] - a separator (12) that separates the front portion of the ventilating device (9) into two parts being the bottom exhaust duct (13) and the upper exhaust duct (14) by extending in the horizontal direction from the outlet opening (8) towards inside the ventilating device (9),
[0020] - a chimney (16) having a chimney outlet (15) that extends upwards in the vertical direction from above the cooking chamber (3) and opens to the upper exhaust duct (14) by crossing the bottom exhaust duct (13) transversely,
[0021] - a movement mechanism (17) fastened to the end of the separator (12) on the side of the fan (10) and a flap (18) that opens/closes the inlets of the bottom and upper exhaust ducts (13, 14) on the side the fan (10) is located by moving upwards/downwards by means of the movement mechanism (17) and
[0022] - the control unit (6) that provides the air blown by the fan (10) to be
delivered to the bottom exhaust duct (13) or to the upper exhaust duct (14) by moving the flap (18) depending on the data received from the humidity sensor (1 1 ).
[0023] The fan (10) sucks air from the space (7) during the cooking process and discharges the sucked air to the outside from the outlet opening (8) by blowing it into the ventilating device (9). The air blown by the fan (10) reaches the outlet opening (8) by moving in the bottom exhaust duct (13) or the upper exhaust duct (14) that is left open by the flap (18).
[0024] The control unit (6) provides the upper exhaust duct (14) to be closed and the bottom exhaust duct (13) to opened by moving the flap (18) upwards if the amount of humidity in the cooking chamber (3) detected by the humidity sensor (1 1 ) is below a predetermined limit value and the air blown by the fan (10) is delivered from the bottom exhaust duct (13) to the outlet opening (8).
[0025] Since the chimney outlet (15) does not open into the bottom exhaust duct (13), the air flow in the bottom exhaust duct (13) sucking air from the chimney (16) and hence the cooking chamber (3) is out of the question. In the position the flap (18) is above and closes the upper exhaust duct (14), the hot and humid air in the cooking chamber (3) reaches the upper exhaust duct (14) by passing through the chimney (16) and is discharged to the outside from the outlet opening (8) by continuing its natural flow since it does not meet with the air blown by the fan (10) here.
[0026] The control unit (6) provides the bottom exhaust duct (13) to be closed and the upper exhaust duct (14) to be opened by moving the flap (18) downwards if the amount of humidity in the cooking chamber (3) detected by the humidity sensor (1 1) is above a predetermined limit value and the air blown by the fan (10) is delivered from the upper exhaust duct (14) to the outlet opening (8).
[0027] Since the chimney outlet (15) opens to the upper exhaust duct (14), the air blown by the fan (10) creates suction effect at the chimney outlet (15). Consequently, the hot and humid air in the cooking chamber (3) is provided to be drawn from the chimney (16) by the suction effect created with the air blown by the fan (10) and to be delivered to the upper exhaust duct (14) and to be discharged to the outside from here by means of the outlet opening (8).
[0028] In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises an arcuately shaped air guide (19) disposed above the chimney (16), extending into the upper exhaust duct (14), at least partially closing the upper side of the chimney outlet (15), manufactured by cutting out and drawing the portion of the separator (12), forming the bottom wall of the upper exhaust duct (14), coinciding to above the chimney outlet (15) and a suction hole (20) disposed on the air guide (19).
[0029] The air guide (19) provides the air flow cross section in the upper exhaust duct (14) to be narrowed and thus the speed of air flow to be increased. The air guide (19) provides the chimney (16) to suck air from the cooking chamber (3) effectively by means of the suction hole (20) by increasing the effect of pressure difference created by the air blown by the fan (10) in case the amount of humidity in the cooking chamber (3) increases and the flap (18) leaves the upper exhaust duct (14) open.
[0030] In the oven (1 ) of the present invention, the electronic elements in the
control unit (6) are provided to be effectively cooled and the hot and humid air is suck from the inside of the cooking chamber (3) to be discharged outside only when required by means of the bottom and upper exhaust ducted (13, 14) structure and the flap (18) that opens/closes the exhaust ducts (13, 14) and thereby saving in energy is provided by preventing heat loss.
[0031] It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited by the
embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection disclosed by the claims of the present invention.
