La gorge supérieure 35a, pratiquée sur la surface intérieure de la paroi extérieure 33a, à proximité de l'extrémité supérieure de cette paroi 33a, positionne l'organe de manœuvre 8 dans sa position haute, laissant les doigts 9 en position rétractée. La gorge inférieure 35b, positionnée au dessous de la gorge supérieure 35a, immobilise l'organe de manœuvre 8 dans sa position basse, déplaçant les doigts 9 en position déployée. Le profil en forme de sapin du clip 81 et des gorges 35a et 35b ne permettent pas à l'organe de manœuvre 8 de repasser de la position basse vers la position haute, évitant ainsi la désolidarisation accidentelle de la butée 3 sur la structure 2. Le démontage de l'amortisseur 1 pour un éventuel remplacement se faisant par l'écrou 13. Pour faciliter le positionnement des butées de suspension 3 dans les ouvertures 21 de la structure 2, des capuchons en forme de cônes peuvent venir coiffer les collerettes 33. Ces capuchons sont, soit positionnés en bordure de chaîne de production, soit mis en position par le fournisseur qui livre les amortisseurs 1 déjà équipés des butées de suspension 3.
