Abstract

본 발명은 보조 입력 및 표시장치로서 기능하는 터치스크린을 구비한 노트북 컴퓨터를 개시한다. 본 발명의 노트북 컴퓨터는, 상면에 키패드와 팜 레스트 영역을 구비하는 본체; 상기 본체와 힌지 결합된 디스플레이부; 상기 본체의 상기 팜 레스트 영역에 장착된 적어도 하나의 터치스크린을 포함하고, 상기 터치스크린에 대한 접촉면적 또는 접촉압력이 설정된 값을 초과하면 상기 터치스크린을 디스에이블(disable) 상태로 전환하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따르면 노트북 컴퓨터의 팜 레스트 영역을 활용할 수 있어 공간활용도를 높일 수 있고, 추가적으로 장착된 터치스크린이 보조 표시장치 및 입력장치의 기능을 수행하므로 종래보다 다양한 GUI를 제공하여 사용편의성을 높일 수 있다. 또한 키패드에 할당된 기능키를 이용하지 않고도 조작 및 확인이 가능한 편리한 I/O인터페이스를 제공할 수 있다.
