Abstract
The present invention relates to a device for resting and recovering rested state in a short period, by means of inverting the body liquid column for redistributing the internal medium components, which provides a resting device wherein it comprises a bearer (3) providing support from head (4) to feet (8), which may be provided in a continuous or fragmented way between body segments, containing an internal material (2), moldable to natural relief of the human body, and articulations (7) providing the device with regulation and mobility, allowing feet positioning at a level above the heart.
Description
RESTING DEVICE
Field of application
The present invention relates to a device for resting and recovering rested state in a short period, by means of redistributing body flow, which may be used in places with a large concentration of people for longer times, such as airports, planes, bus stations, buses, train stations, offices, malls, hospitals, courthouses, performance arenas, plants and at home. State of the art The passage through narrower and narrower channels is known as fluids filtration method, thus, solutes concentration tends to vary, as well as the relations between these different solutes. Therefore, when passing through each time thinner channels, solutes with larger-sized molecules tend to concentrate upstream of said channels, and each time smaller solutes concentrate downstream, creating, obviously, a progressively different solution, as they get close to distal extremities.
The human body on standing or sitting position and under the action of gravity, with its vascular and canalicular network, works as a filter in its extremities (limbs), away from cardiovascular system center.
There is both concentration of certain solutes distally and their lack proximally.
This whole process occurs under the action of gravity, necessarily causing a density gradient in the body internal medium.
This process is the one occurring in man's lower limbs along a day of work (sitting or walking, sitting on an airplane in long trips, etc.), generating a gradient between cranial and feet fluids.
Cardiac pumping is proved to be insufficient to bring fluids back, let alone their denser solutes.
In cases in which the individual is able to walk, there is also the help of other muscular forces for pumping, but a gradient of concentration is still built, and thus, of internal medium chemical composition.
Night rest characterizes the only opportunity for body fluid re-dilution, when the horizontal position allows fluids made different along the day are mixed in abdomen and heart large vessels.
This variation in body chemical composition tends to be progressive and cumulative. And as years pass by, it is directly related to the aging process. It is also partly responsible for the fatigue manifesting along the day.
The process is related to physical barriers (conduits walls narrower and narrower, and sizes of molecules, the "precipitation" of which is determined by gravity), and therefore, it shall be opposed by physical means.
The objective is to reverse the body liquid column, providing return of all kinds of molecules (more or less dense) to redistribute in body fluids, at concentrations appropriate to homeostasis, as it was originally conceived for good body functioning. This may happen with the help of gravity (the same that determined the partition of solution components by density levels when passing through body canaliculi). Thus, what is obtained is the optimization of night rest effects (and sometimes complementing this first one, in case of individuals with insufficient resting periods) during the work day, to enjoy its reinvig orating effects; and on the long term, the prevention of deleterious effect of progressive change of body fluids composition. The objective of the present invention is to prepare a device providing, in a fast way, reinvigorating rest by recomposing human body internal medium concentration by means of fluids redistribution in their physiological compositions. Brief description
The present invention provides a resting device comprising a bearer (3) providing support from head (4) to feet (8), which may be provided in a continuous or fragmented way between body segments, containing an internal material (2), moldable to natural relief of the human body, and articulations (7) providing the device with regulation and mobility, allowing feet positioning at a level above the heart. Detailed description
The device comprises a bearer covered with soft material, comfortable for the human body, with a support from the head to the feet.
After the user positions on it, it molds to body natural relief and to its articulations, comfortably positioning the head, neck, spine, hips, knees and ankles. It shall mold to the body natural relief and shall be progressively padded with air-filled bags, foam, water, cloth or cotton flakes.
After the user is comfortably positioned, the device shall fold on his/her articulations, and position so as the feet shall be risen above the heart level.
This position favors draining of solutes and solvent accumulated in the extremities, using the force of gravity, which was the one creating the internal medium concentration difference in the first place.
The device comprises a bearer that may be made of steel, aluminum, strong plastic, wood, wherein steel is preferably used, which supports bags that may be filled with air, water, foam or cotton flakes, is preferably using air. A base which may be made of steel, aluminum, strong plastic, wood, wherein steel is preferably used. When for public use, its coating may be of the same material used in upholstered chairs used in public places, such as airports, bus stations. Such easy- to-clean materials may be chosen among vinyl, synthetic cloth, non-synthetic cloth and leather, wherein vinyl is preferably used.
Device moving concerning folding and adaptation to the body, as well as its system to mold to body natural relief shall be controlled by a motor located on the device base. In a simplified version, the device may have, under the seat, a shaft providing chair rotation, in such a way to rise the feet and lower the thorax; this simplified device may be installed on a chair, when molding to body articulations may be dispensed, as the chair or armchair comes in a shape previously defined as such.
The device, when for public use, shall be provided with means of charging for its use, either by means of tokens, coins collection, magnetic card reader, preferably magnetic card reader shall be used.
It shall be possible to set up the device to perform its movements, time control, charging, i.e., by means of pre-established programs and/or also driven by buttons existing on the device, wherein handling is made by the user him/herself, or also by an operator who can control the functions from a center. When the service is offered to multiple users, an operator controls a set of devices, which shall be grouped in the same physical area. It may also have power-multiplying gears driven by levers the user him/herself handles, in cases when the motor is dispensed.
For user convenience, an arm coupled to the side of the device allows controlling device movement, molding and functions.
The device also aggregates optional features, such as audio and/or video equipment, connection source for Internet access, holder for books, magazines, newspapers reading, lighting source, device to measure blood pressure, oximeter.
The devices will be equipped with a clock mechanism with alarm, as the objective is a fast and reinvigorating rest.
A pressurized version by means of an inflatable blanket covering the lower limbs shall be available within user fitting criteria, helping in blood circulation. It may also have a heating system, providing more comfort to the user.
A motorization version for office chairs and/or household chairs shall be available, in such a way that these pieces of furniture are used with the intention of draining inversion and fast recovery of rested state.
A simplified version with the sole purpose of conformation of the chair for raising feet above heart level by means of a support for the feet shall be designed to replace chairs used in airplanes, trains and buses for passenger transportation. It will allow periods for body composition rebalance during long trip periods, providing comfort, rest and thrombosis prevention. That simplified version comprises a supporting shaft transversal to the chair seat, on which it may be positioned on two planes, with 90 degrees between one and the other, allowing feet positioning above heart level.
Interfaces for communication means and/or leisure may also be connected, ergonomically positioned on the devices.
This device may be used in airports, airplanes, bus stations, buses, train stations, trains, offices, at home, public places with people concentration, hospitals for personnel use, in plants for employees rest, malls, courthouses, performance arenas.

FIGURES 1 , 2, and 3 show an example of the device, wherein: device comprising a steel-made base (1), with a bearer (3), also steel-made, which supports the internal material (2), which comprises air bags coated with vinyl, which is an easy-to-clean material. That device has articulations (7) allowing a better adaptation to the body of each individual. There is a support for the head (4) and a support for the feet (8). It is equipped with a magnetic card reader to start its operation. When positioning on the device, the user starts controlling the whole device from a control panel (5), which is located on an arm (6) coupled to the side of the available device in an ergonomic way, and by touching the screen, it is possible to start the functions the device offers, such as inflating the air bags for better
adaptation, choosing the best inclination, and it is also possible to set an alarm clock, or to access the Internet. Example 2
Based on the device features and on the fluids physiology and physics, the relevance of the device use on passenger chairs in means of transportation with long-term traveling times, such as airplanes, trains, buses, is clear.
The device adapted to the limited space conditions of these places would have the same features of the commonly used chairs, complemented by a support for legs and feet. A shaft fixed under the seat, on its transversal shaft, provides the rotation of the chair, in such a way to rise the feet and lower the thorax, reversing the fluid column as provided in the original device.
The change of position may be controlled by a motor or by power-multiplying gears driven by a lever handled by the user him/herself. Time control, as well as the other comfort items, shall be supplied as optional, by the transportation service provider. Example 3
A device is described, to be adapted under a conventional chair in airplanes, trains, buses or other means that require the user to remain sitting for a long time, which may transform them in a simplified version of the device for body liquid column inversion, as described above, with the purpose of rearranging body fluids concentration, in situations as long trips or other situations on the sitting position for a long time.
On both sides of the chair mechanisms as on FIGURE 4 and 5 are positioned, representing an example of the device simplified version, with fittings A and B and intermediate position C. These fittings adapt to a shaft fixed on the floor, transversally (9) to the chair seat.
When fitted on position B, the gravity center of the chair plus user set is such that it is in the conventional position. When on position A, ahead of the gravity center, the set turns 90 degrees anticlockwise, rising the feet by means of a support (11) and by lowering the torso.
The change from position B to A is made by means of a manual lever (12) with a fulcrum in the chair, ahead of the device (10) and having a support on a track placed on the vehicle floor, for chair sliding when changing positions. When the lever is pulled (which may have its power multiplied by gears), the chair rises, being released from point B, while receiving power to displace backwards.
The transversal supporting shaft goes to point C1 unstable, and positions on fitting A, when the chair rotates 90 degrees supported by a bearer that prevents rotation over 90 degrees.
To return to the sitting position, the user holds two handles (13) located over the head and on the front, in such a way to displace the set upwards. The shaft is released from A, goes to C, which is inclined, in such a way to favor the return to fitting B.
Alternatively, all movements above may be performed by a motor, which rotates the chair on a shaft transversal to the seat, in a 90-degree radius, in order to obtain the positions described above.
Claims
1. Resting device, wherein it comprises a bearer (3) providing support from the head (4) to the feet (8), which may be provided in a continuous or fragmented way between body segments, containing an internal material (2), moldable to natural relief of the human body, and articulations (7) providing the device with regulation and mobility, allowing feet positioning at a level above the heart.
2. Resting device according to claim 1 , wherein the bearer (3) is coated with an easy-to-clean material.
3. Resting device according to claims 1 or 2, wherein the bearer (3) may be coated with the use of materials as: vinyl, synthetic cloth, non-synthetic cloth, leather, and vinyl is preferably used.
4. Resting device according to claim 1 , wherein the internal material (2) comprises bags helping to mold the device to the human body.
5. Resting device according to claim 4, wherein the bags may be filled with air, water, foam, cotton flakes, an air is preferably used.
6. Resting device according to claim 1 , wherein it may be set up to control device movement, molding and other functions.
7. Resting device according to claims 1 or 6, wherein the control of device movement, molding and other functions is made by means of a motor.
8. Resting device according to claim 7, wherein the motor is coupled on the device base (1).
9. Resting device according to claim 6, wherein it may be provided with buttons inserted on the device side to allow control of device movement, molding and other functions.
10. Resting device according to claim 6, wherein it has an arm (6) coupled to the device to facilitate controlling device movement, molding and functions.
11. Resting device according to claim 6, wherein it is possible to have device movement, molding and other functions control performed by an operator, from a center.
12. Resting device according to claim 8, wherein the base is made of materials as: steel, aluminum, strong plastic, wood, and steel is preferably used.
13. Resting device according to claim 1 , wherein the control of device movement, molding and functions is performed by means of power multiplying gears driven by a lever handled by the user him/herself.
14. Resting device according to claim 13, wherein it has, under the seat, a shaft providing chair rotation in such a way to rise feet and lower thorax.
15. Resting device according to claim 1, wherein it optionally comprises heating, for user comfort.
16. Resting device according to claim 1, wherein it may optionally comprise an inflatable blanket to press the lower limbs.
17. Resting device according to claim 1, wherein the device comprises optional features, such as an alarm clock, audio and/or video equipment, connection source for Internet access, holder for books, magazines, newspapers reading, lighting source, device to measure blood pressure, oximeter.
18. Resting device according to claim 1 , wherein when for public use, it may be provided with a token, coins collector, magnetic card reader, and a magnetic card reader is preferably used.
19. Resting device, wherein it comprises a bearer (3) coated with vinyl providing support from the head (4) to the feet (8), which may be provided in a continuous or fragmented way between body segments, containing an internal material (2) with air-filled bags, moldable to natural relief of the human body, and articulations (7) providing the device with regulation and mobility, allowing feet positioning at a level above the heart.
20. Resting device according to claim 19, wherein there is a simplified version to adapt to conventional chairs, comprising a support for the feet, in addition to a shaft providing support, transversal to the chair seat, in which it may be positioned on two planes with 90 degrees between one and the other, allowing positioning the feet at a level above the heart.
21. Use of resting device according to claim 1 , wherein it is used in public places with people concentration, such as airports, airplanes, bus stations, buses, offices, at hospitals, plants, train stations, trains, malls, courthouses, performances arenas and at home.
22. Use of resting device according to claims from 1 to 21 , wherein it is possible to use its integral or simplified version to replace airplanes, trains and buses chairs.
