Abstract
Provided are a coil antenna, which can suppress the increases of the manufacture and product costs and which has its two coil ends prevented from becoming detached from metal terminals because of the high heat at a resin molding time and the stress to be applied during use of a product. A coil antenna (1) includes a core (2), a coil (3), a pair of metal terminals (4-1 and 4-2) and a thermoplastic resin (5). On the surfaces of the metal terminals (4-1 and 4-2), there are formed a first metal-plated layer (43) having a higher melting point than that of the thermoplastic resin (5), and a second metal-plated layer (44) having a lower melting point than that of the thermoplastic resin (5). The coil (3) has its end portions (31 and 32) junctioned to the first metal-plated layer (43) by alloy layers (31a and 32a) and held by the fillet (44a) of the second metal-plated layer (44). The thermoplastic resin (5) covers the core (2), the coil (3) and the metal terminals (4-1 and 4-2) with an external electrode portion (42) being exposed to the outside.
