Abstract

A vacuum heat insulation structure which has excellent heat-insulating performance and is excellent in resistance to expansion/shrinkage and flexing and which, even in long-term use, is less apt to generate cracks or pinholes and suffers no decrease in heat-insulating performance; and a process for producing the structure. The vacuum heat insulation structure comprises: a multilayered film comprising a polyolefin film (A) having a metal or metal oxide vapor-deposited thereon and a gas-barrier film (B) having a metal or metal oxide vapor-deposited thereon; and a heat-insulating material. It is characterized in that the polyolefin film (A) and the gas-barrier film (B) have been laminated so that that side of the film (A) which has the vapor-deposited metal or metal oxide faces that side of the film (B) which has the vapor-deposited metal or metal oxide, and that the heat-insulating material is hermetically packaged with the multilayered film.
