Abstract

偏波モード分散の悪化を抑え、波長多重通信における通信容量の大容量化に資する光ファイバリボン芯線及び光ファイバケーブルを提供する。束状にされた複数の光ファイバ芯線１２と、複数の光ファイバ芯線を一体化するように複数の光ファイバ芯線の周囲に形成されたリボン被覆層１３を備えた光ファイバリボン芯線において、外被のガラス転移温度が８０～１３０°Cの範囲内であり、かつ、前記外皮のヤング率が８００～２１００ＭＰａの範囲内であり、かつ、前記複数の光ファイバの上下に塗布された被覆層厚さaと前記光ファイバリボン芯線の最外郭に位置した光ファイバの各外側に塗布された被覆層厚さbが常に1＜ｂ／ａ≦２であり、かつ、前記被覆層厚さaが１０μｍ以下であり、かつ、前記被覆層厚さｂが２０μｍ未満である。
