Abstract

An air bag for a passenger seat whose open/close-type vent hole is kept open or largely open if the vicinity of the bottom of a bag body comes against an object while inflating. A slide cloth (20) having an aperture (22) is provided inside an air bag body (1a) having the open/close-type vent hole (10). When the aperture (22) overlaps the vent hole (10), the vent hole (10) is kept open. When the slide cloth (20) is strongly pulled, the aperture (22) of the cloth (20) moves downward, and when an excess (25) of the cloth (20) covers the open/close-type vent hole (10), the vent hole (10) is closed.
