Abstract

In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a vehicular window system, the system comprising: a plurality of panes; and a mechanism for moving a selected pane of the plurality of panes to the launching position of a vehicle's window. According to one embodiment of the invention, the mechanism comprises: a plurality of panes, each having different characteristics; a shifting assembly, for moving a selected pane to the launching position of the window frame; and a lifting assembly, for lifting / lowering the pane in the launching position. The lifting assembly may comprise a belt rotatable in a substantially vertical direction; a motor for rotating the belt; a pawl assembly attached to the belt and to the pane positioned in the launching position of the window; thereby upon rotating the motor, lifting or lowering the pawl assembly and the pane corresponding to the rotation direction thereof.
