Abstract

 液晶表示パネル(2)は、液晶層(40)を介して対向配置されたTFT基板(20)および対向基板(30)を備え、液晶層(40)における液晶分子(41)は、電界印加時に、初期状態から配向状態の異なる画像表示状態に配向転移する。TFT基板(20)および対向基板(30)のうち少なくとも一方の基板における、基板面に平行な横電界が印加される領域には、液晶分子(41)が反平行配向する領域(40B)が設けられている。これにより、全ての画素を確実に配向転移させることができるとともに、液晶層における初期状態から画像表示状態への配向転移を速やかに行うことができる液晶表示パネルを提供することができる。
