Abstract

 深度拡張光学系において、変調素子の切り替え機構が不要で、ズームポジションの変化に応じた的確な変調パターンを実現できる撮像装置および撮像方法であって、光波面変調機能を有し、光波面変調パターンが調整可能な光波面変調素子114を含むズーム光学系110と、ズーム光学系を通過した被写体像を撮像する撮像素子120と、光波面変調素子の光波面変調パターンを制御する変調機能(パターン)制御部200と、撮像素子120からの被写体の画像信号に対して所定の処理を施す画像処理部140と、を有し、ズーム光学系110は、レンズを光軸方向に移動させるレンズ稼動式のズーム光学系であり、変調機能(パターン)制御部200は、ズーム光学系のレンズの稼動に関する情報に応じて光波面変調素子の光波面変調パターンを制御する。
