Abstract
A transmission apparatus (100) causes a group of paths to function as a single path and accommodates a network channel on which a priority is given to that group. This apparatus comprises a switching part (115) that switches from a path in which a failure has occurred to another path in a normal condition; alarm detecting parts (116a,116b) that detect any path failures; and a switching deciding part (125) that, if any path failure is detected by the alarm detecting parts (116a,116b), then compares the band of a group including the path for which the path failure has been detected with a band required by a high-priority network channel accommodated by that group, thereby deciding the control contents of the switching part (115). Thus, the paths included in the group can be dynamically switched without degrading the quality of the accommodated high-priority channel.
