Abstract
A body fat measuring device (1A) comprises an abdomen wearing impedance measuring unit including a long belt-shaped member and a plurality of electrodes, a section (12) for measuring the living body impedance of a subject using the plurality of electrodes, a section (24) for measuring the length around the abdomen of the subject by using the belt-shaped member, and a section (13) for calculating the amount of body fat of the subject based on the living body impedance measured at the impedance measuring section (12) and the length around the abdomen measured at the length around the abdomen measuring section (24). The belt-shaped member has a bar code for specifying the length around the abdomen of the subject, and the length around the abdomen measuring section (24) includes a photoelectric sensor for specifying the length around the abdomen of the subject by reading that bar code. With such an arrangement, a compact body fat measuring device for automatically measuring the length around the abdomen conveniently using a living body impedance method is attained.
