Abstract

 本発明のゲートドライバは、走査信号線の奇数行又は偶数行のいずれか一方を順番に駆動する走査と、走査信号線の奇数行又は偶数行の他方を順番に駆動する走査とを交互に行う走査信号出力回路と、外部から入力されるスタート信号のハイレベル期間におけるクロック信号の立ち上がり回数を検知する立ち上がり回数検知回路と、上記走査信号出力回路による走査順を、上記立ち上がり回数に応じて設定する走査順設定回路と、次段の走査信号線駆動回路に出力されるスタート信号を生成するスタート信号生成回路とを備えることにより、低コストで消費電力およびデータ信号線駆動回路の発熱を抑えつつ高品質の画像を得ることのできる走査信号線駆動回路および表示装置の駆動方法を実現する。
