Abstract

Disclosed is a method for the screening of a substance for the prevention or treatment of a degenerative disease, which enables to screen a substance useful for the prevention or treatment of a degenerative disease while observing a biological reaction in a cell tissue induced by a mechanical load in vitro. Specifically disclosed is a method for the screening of a substance for the prevention or treatment of a degenerative disease, which comprises adding a candidate substance to a cell tissue placed in a culture container and determining the change in the cell tissue which is caused by applying a mechanical load to the cell tissue, thereby evaluating the substance.
