Abstract
Kitchen scissors are disclosed to prevent a material of a desired thickness from being slipped over blades of the scissors, in which each blade is provided with an arc-shaped cutting edge, thereby easily cutting the material. The kitchen scissors include two blades (10) joined by a swivel pin (16) at a cross point, and a handle (18) coupled to an end of each blade (10) and having a hole receiving a finger or fingers of a user. An arc-shaped cutting edge (12) is formed on each blade (10) so that a center of the blade is concaved.
Description
Title: THE SCISSOR FOR KITCHEN
Technical Field
The present invention relates to scissors capable of easily cutting
materials, such as foods, placed between blades, to prevent the materials from
being slipped over the blades, when the scissors cut various thick foods (e.g.,
meat, kimchi and so forth).
Background Art
Generally, scissors are cutting implements consisting of two blades
joined by a swivel pin that allows the cutting edges to be opened and closed to
cut fabric, paper, hair or the like. Recently, kitchen scissors are used to cut
foods to cut kimchi or meat in homes or restaurants, without using a chopping
board.
The scissors usually have a pair of blades each having a straight cutting
edge to easily cut thin or slender materials. However, in case where thick
materials such as kimchi or meat are cut with common scissors in a kitchen, the
material is not easily caught by the scissors, and thus is slid on the blades,
since the blades are tapered towards its end. Therefore, the foods are no
easily cut with the common scissors.

Technical Problem
The present invention has been made in view of the foregoing
problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide kitchen scissors
capable of preventing a material of a desired thickness from being slipped over
blades of the scissors, in which each blade is provided with an arc-shaped
cutting edge, thereby easily cutting the material.
Technical Solution
In order to achieve the above objects, in one aspect of the present
invention, there is provided kitchen scissors including two blades joined by a
swivel pin at a cross point, and a handle coupled to an end of each blade and
having a hole receiving a finger or fingers of a user, the scissors comprising: an
arc-shaped cutting edge formed on each blade so that a center of the blade is
concaved.
Advantageous Effects
According to the kitchen scissors, since the blades are provided with the
arc-shaped cutting edges, the material of a desired thickness is not slid over the
cutting edges, so that the material is easily caught and cut by the arch-shaped
cutting edges.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The foregoing and other objects, features and advantages of the
present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed
description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in
which:
FIG. 1 is a view illustrating the state in which scissors according to an
embodiment of the present invention are closed;
FIG. 2 is a view illustrating the state in which scissors according to an
embodiment of the present invention are opened; and
FIG. 3 is a view illustrating the used state of scissors according to an
embodiment of the present invention.
Best Mode
Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiment of
the present invention.
Scissors according to an embodiment of the present invention consist of
two blades 10 joined by a swivel pin 16 at a cross point, and a handle 18
coupled to an end of each blade 10 and having a hole receiving a finger or
fingers of a user. Each of the blades 10 is provided with an arc-shaped cutting
edge 12, so that a center of the blade is concaved. When the scissors cut a
material of a desired thickness, such as kimchi or meat, the material placed
between the arc-shaped cutting edges 2 is not slid toward an end 14 of the
blade 10.
Preferably, the arch-shaped cutting edges 12 of the blades 10 are faced
to each other so as to obtain a sufficient cutting ability when the blades 10 are
opened and closed.
With the kitchen scissors including the blades 10 with the arc-shaped
cutting edges 12 according to an embodiment of the present invention, the
material 20 is not slid over the cutting edges 12 towards the ends 14 of the
blades 10, when the scissors cut the thick material 20.
Specifically/ since the cutting edges 14 of the blades 10 are concaved in
an arc shape, the material 20 is placed between the arc-shaped cutting edges
12, when the material is cut by the scissors. In this instance, since the material
20 is enclosed by the arc-shaped cutting edges 12, the material 20 is not slid
over the cutting edges 12 towards the ends 14 of the blades 10.
Industrial Applicability
As can be seen from the foregoing, since the blades are provided with
the arc-shaped cutting edges, the material of a desired thickness is not slid over
the cutting edges, so that the material is easily caught and cut by the arch-
shaped cutting edges.
While this invention has been described in connection with what is
presently considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is to
be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiment and
the drawings. On the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and
variations within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
Claims
1. Kitchen scissors including two blades 10 joined by a swivel pin 16
at a cross point, and a handle 18 coupled to an end of each blade 10 and
having a hole receiving a finger or fingers of a user, the scissors comprising:
an arc-shaped cutting edge 12 formed on each blade 10 so that a
center of the blade is concaved.
2. The kitchen scissors as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the arch-
shaped cutting edges 12 of the blades 10 are faced to each other.
