Abstract
A method and apparatus for exposure control of an imaging sensor aimed at a moving target are provided. It comprises a means for reading the maximum speed of the target, means for detecting the actual speed of the target, a means for detecting light reflected from the target. Detection is repeated at a rate between that which is required to match the maximum speed of the target at half that speed. A converter is provided for the detected light to convert it into data signals representing the light intensity patterns detected. A multiplier operates on the signal for each scan where it applies a multiplication constant determined by the maximum speed and a constant speeds of the target to balance the exposure of the scans.
