Description

DESCRIPTION
Pack for the Nose
TECHNICAL FIELD This invention relates to a pack for the nose, which is a sheet-like pack of a peel-off type, can widely cover the nose and has a shape closely fittable with the outer shape of the nose with ease. More particularly, it relates to a pack for the nose which is suitable as a pack for pores of the skin, used to remove keratotic plugs of the nose skin.
BACKGROUND ART Peel-off type sheet-like packs are cosmetic materials of the type that the pack is stuck on the surface of the skin with its film-forming cosmetic material surface in contact and, after it has been left to stand for a certain time until a film is formed, the film is peeled from the skin. Such peel-off type sheet-like packs, depending on the constituents of cosmetic materials used there, commonly impart moisture content, moistening components or the like to stratum corneum when used and absorb sebum secreted from the skin. They also impart an appropriate tenseness to the skin by the formation of film to improve blood circulation. They still also remove dirt, keratotic plugs and so forth of the skin when peeled. Hence, peel- off type packs are important for achieving a high emollient effect and a high rinsing effect. In particular, much sebum is secreted from pores of the nose skin, and the sebum may mix with stratum coneu to form keratotic plugs, so that the pores of the skin may extend, the surface of the skin may feel rough or the tops of keratotic plugs may blacken to damage the beauty of the skin, thus the peel-off type packs are useful for the nose.
Peel-off type packs are known heretofore as jelly, pasty and powdery products. Of these, jelly products and pasty products are applied to the skin as they are, and films having been thus formed are peeled. Powdery products are turned liquid by previously adding a liquid such as water, and the liquid formed is applied to the skin, and films having been thus formed are peeled.
When these are used, however, cosmetic materials constituting a pack are applied to the skin with fingers, and hence unnecessary cosmetic materials adhere to the fingers when applied, thus there is a problem that the cosmetic materials are wasted and also the fingers become dirty. There is another a problem that the cosmetic materials can not be uniformly applied to the skin surface. Also, since the cosmetic materials must be left to stand for a long time after they are applied to the skin and until the formation of a film is completed, there is still another problem that the packs are troublesome to use. Moreover, the film may have an insufficient film strength when the materials are used in a usual amount , and there is a further problem that the film may be torn off when peeled, to remain unpeeled on the skin surface.
Accordingly, in recent years, sheet-like packs comprising a holding member such as nonwoven fabric, and a film-forming cosmetic material previously coated thereon have been proposed, and put on the market.
As forms of such sheet-like packs, some of them are provided for users in the form of rectangular sheets so that individual users may cut a rectangular sheet into desired shapes when used, in accordance with the portions to be packed, and some of them are previously shaped to have outer shapes fittable with the portions to be packed. Of these, a sheet-like pack shaped as a pack for the nose is known to include, e.g., the one as shown in Figs. 9A and 9B.
The pack for the nose denoted by reference numeral 1 in Fig. 9A has an upper edge 2 and a lower edge 3 which are formed in straight lines parallel to each other, and has a substantially trapezoidal outer shape. The sides between the upper edge 2 and the lower edge 3 form curves . In particular, their shoulders 4 each form a continuous curve consisting of an arc (curvature radius: Rl) curved inward and an arc (curvature radius: R2) curved outward. Fig. 9B illustrates how this pack 1 for the nose is actually applied on the nose. As shown in the drawing, use of this pack 1 for the nose makes it possible to well cover almost the whole nose in the state the pack adheres closely to the skin of the nose, compared with an instance where a merely rectangular sheet-like pack is used.
However, each has one's own shape of the nose such as one's own height , width and angle of the nose , which may greatly differ from one another. Hence, even if the pack 1 for the nose as shown in Figs. 9A and 9B is used, the pack can not be applied to some part of the nose when the pack is stuck on the nose, depending on the shape of the nose. For example, as shown in Fig. 10A, the tip Nl of the nose tends to protrude from the pack 1 when one has a prominent nose and the nose has an acute angle θ . On the other hand, as shown in Fig. 10B, the ridge N2 of the nose (dorsum nasi) can not be widely covered when one has a flat nose and the nose has an obtuse angle θ .
Conventional packs have also a problem that the air present between the skin and the sheet-like pack can not be put out therefrom and some part of the pack having been applied does not adhere closely to the skin.
The present invention will solve the above problems involved in the prior art. Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a sheet-like pack for the nose which can be fit with noses of various shapes . DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a pack for the nose, having the following embodiments .
In the first place, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein a projecting portion so designed as to cover the tip of the nose when the pack is applied is formed at the middle of a lower edge of the pack.
Second, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein projecting portions so designed as to cover the wings of the nose when the pack is applied are formed at both ends of a lower edge of the pack.
Third, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein the two sides standing opposite to each other are formed of straight lines inclined in the form of two non-parallel sides of a trapezoid, and shoulders of the pack which lie between the sides and an upper edge and are positioned between the wings of the nose and the root of the nose when the pack is applied each have the outer shape of a recess formed of an arc having a curvature radius of from 10 mm to 100 mm.
Fourth, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein shoulders of the pack which are positioned between the wings of the nose and the root of the nose when the pack is applied each have the outer shape of a continuous curve consisting of an arc that forms a projecting portion on the upper edge side, an arc that forms a recessed portion and an arc that forms a projecting portion on the lower edge side.
Fifth, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein air vent holes are formed in the vicinity of shoulders of the pack which are positioned between the wings of the nose and the root of the nose when the pack is applied.
Sixth, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein a slit is formed at the middle of an upper edge of the pack.
Seventh, the present invention provides a sheet-like pack for the nose, comprising a holding member and a cosmetic material and being applicable to the skin of the nose, wherein a plurality of slits are formed at a lower edge of the pack.
The pack for the nose according to the present invention as described above has a specific outer shape , and hence it can cover the nose of every shape, inclusive of the tip of the nose and the wings of the nose, and can be well stuck on the nose.
The present invention also provides, as an embodiment preferred in view of layer configuration and constituent materials, an embodiment in which the holding member comprises a moisture-permeable holding member; in particular, an embodiment in which the moisture-permeable holding member comprises a multi-layer type moisture- permeable holding member having a water-repellent layer and a hydrophilic layer, where the cosmetic material is held in at least the hydrophilic layer and the water- repellent layer forms one surface of the sheet-like pack; and preferably an embodiment in which the cosmetic material is a keratotic plug-removable cosmetic material containing a polymeric compound having a salt-forming group selected from a carboxyl group, a sulfonic acid residual group, a sulfuric acid residual group, a phosphoric acid residual group, a nitric acid residual group, an amino group and an ammonium group; in particular, an embodiment in which the keratotic plug-removable cosmetic material comprises polymethacryloyloxyethyltrimethyl-mmonium chloride .

The present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings. In the drawings, like reference numerals denote like or equivalent constituents .
Figs. 1A and IB are a plan view (Fig. 1A) and a cross-sectional view (Fig. IB) of a pack 1A for the nose according to the present invention.
This pack 1A for the nose has as a holding member 20 a moisture-permeable holding member 20a comprised of two layers, a water-repellent layer 21 and a hydrophilic layer 22. In this pack 1A for the nose, a cosmetic material 23 is held in the hydrophilic layer 22 of the moisture- permeable holding member 20a and is also present as a sole layer on the hydrophilic layer 22. A release film 24 is provided on the surface of the cosmetic material 23.
While the conventional pack 1 for the nose as shown in Figs . 9A and 9B has the lower edge forming a straight line, the present pack 1A for the nose is characterized in that a projecting portion 5 is formed at the middle of a lower edge 3 of the pack. When the pack is applied to the nose, this projecting portion 5 makes it possible to widely cover the nose, inclusive of the tip Nl of the nose, even if the nose has an acute angle θ as shown in Fig. 10A. In this instance, there are no particular limitations on the shape and size of the projecting portion 5, and they may be appropriately determined according to height h and so forth of the pack. For example, when the pack has a height h of about 30 to 50 mm, the projecting portion 5 may preferably have an outer shape with a width W5 of 5 to 50 mm and a height h5 of from 3 to 30 mm, and may preferably be formed of an arc having a curvature radius of about 3 to 40 mm.
When such a projecting portion 5 is formed in the pack for the nose, slits 6 extending inward from both ends of the projecting portion 5 may be provided as shown by dotted lines in Fig. 1A so that the pack can be stuck on in a well close adhesion the nose having any shape. With regard to the shape of the slits 6 , cuts may be merely formed. Since, however, cut ends of the cuts formed as the slits 6 may stick together during the storage of the pack to function as slits with difficulty, the cuts may preferably be in the form of wedges .
As shown in Fig. 2, projecting portions 7 may be formed at both ends of a lower edge 3 of the pack so that the wings of the nose can be surely covered when the pack is applied to the nose.
Such projecting portions 7 for covering the wings of the nose may be formed without regard to whether or not the projecting portion 5 for covering the tip of the nose is provided. For example, as shown in Fig. 3, the projecting portions 7 may be formed without providing the projecting portion 5 at the lower edge 3 for covering the tip of the nose.
Fig. 4 illustrates a pack IB for the nose according to a different embodiment of the present invention. In this pack IB for the nose, in order to put out any unwanted air present between the pack and the skin to improve the adhesion of the pack to the skin, the two sides 8 standing opposite to each other are formed of straight lines inclined in the form of two non-parallel sides of a trapezoid, and shoulders 4 of the pack which lie between the sides 8 and an upper edge 2 and are positioned between the wings of the nose and the root of the nose when the pack is applied each have the outer shape of a recess formed of an arc having a curvature radius of from 5 mm to 600 mm, and preferably from 10 to 100 mm. Thus, when the pack is applied, it becomes possible to very easily put out the air present between the pack and skin by moving fingers from the top of the ridge of the nose (dorsum nasi) toward the shoulders 4 of the pack while pressing the pack with the fingers. In particular, this pack IB for the nose, compared with the conventional pack for the nose as shown in Fig. 9, can be effective or improving its adhesion to the skin .
In order to improve the adhesion of the pack to the skin, as in a pack 1C for the nose as shown in Fig. 5, shoulders 4 of the pack which lie from middle portions between an upper edge 2 and a lower edge 3 to the ends of the upper edge 2 , and which are positioned between the wings of the nose and the root of the nose when the pack is applied may be made to have outer shapes with specific curves. More specifically, the shoulders 4 each have the outer shape of a continuous curve consisting of an arc that forms a projecting portion 4x on the upper edge side, an arc that forms a recessed portion 4y and an arc that forms a projecting portion 4z on the lower edge side. The curvature radii of the arcs that form these projecting portions and a recessed portion may be appropriately determined depending on the area covering the nose, an appearance and so forth. For example, the arc that forms the projecting portion 4x on the upper edge side may be in a curvature radius of from 1 to 20 mm, the arc that forms the recessed portion 4y may be in a curvature radius of from 5 to 50 mm, and the arc that forms the projecting portion 4z on the lower edge side may be in a curvature radius of from 5 to 50 mm. Here, these arcs may preferably be made smoothly continuous in view of appearance.
Since as shown in Fig. 5 the shoulders 4 are formed of the curves that form the projecting portion 4x, recessed portion 4y and projecting portion 4z, it becomes possible to very easily put out the air present between the pack and the skin by moving fingers from the top of the ridge of the nose toward the shoulders 4 of the pack while pressing the pack with the fingers.
Besides, in the present invention, in order to improve the adhesion of the pack by putting out the air present between the pack and the skin when the pack is applied, an air vent hole may be formed in the vicinity of the shoulder. For example, a plurality of air vent holes
10 may be formed along the outer shape of each shoulder 4.
Fig. 6 also illustrates a pack ID for the nose according to a different embodiment of the present invention. In order to improve the adhesion of the pack to the nose various in shape, in particular, to the nose various in angle θ , this pack ID for the nose has a slit
11 formed at the middle of an upper edge 2 of the pack. This slit 11 may be formed by merely making a cut in the pack. Since, however, cut ends of the cut formed as the slit 11 may stick together during the storage of the pack to function as a slit with difficulty, the cut may preferably be in the form of a wedge.
Since the slit 11 is formed at the middle of the upper edge 2 , not only the adhesion of the pack to the nose can be improved as stated above, but also any fold may occur with difficulty when the pack is stuck on the nose. Also, the slit 11 may be fitted on the ridge or root of the nose, whereby the pack can be positionally adjusted when stuck on the nose. Thus, it becomes possible to stick the pack on the nose with ease without any right-and-left deviation.
Fig. 7 also illustrates a pack IE for the nose according to the present invention. In order to improve the adhesion of the pack to the nose various in shape, in particular, in order to improve the adhesion of the pack to the tip of the nose and the wings of the nose, this pack IE for the nose has a plurality of slits 12 formed at a lower edge 3 of the pack.
In the present invention, the above features of the present invention as shown in Figs. 1 to 7 may be appropriately combined so that the pack for the nose can surely cover and adhere closely to the nose various in shape and size. For example, as in a pack IF for the nose as shown in Fig. 8, the projecting portion 5 may be formed at the middle of the lower edge 3 so that the pack can also cover the tip of the nose, the shoulders 4 may be made to have specific curves as shown in Fig. 5 so that the unwanted air present between the pack and the skin can be put out when the pack is applied, to thereby improve the adhesion of the pack, and the slit 11 extending inward from the middle of the upper edge 2 may be formed so that the pack can be applied to the nose various in shape. In this instance, when, e.g., the pack has a height h of from 30 to 40 mm and a width w of from 75 to 90 mm, the slit 11 may be formed in a length of from 10 to 15 mm. The projecting portion 5 at the lower edge 3 may be formed of an arc having a curvature radius (R3) of from about 6 to 10 mm and arcs at its both sides, each having a curvature radius (R4) of from about 2 to 8 mm.
The pack for the nose according to the present invention, having the characteristic features as described above, may have various layer configuration so long as it comprises the holding member 20 and the cosmetic material 23. Preferably, it may be made up in the following way: As shown in Fig. IB, the holding member 20 comprises the multi-layer type moisture-permeable holding member 20a having the water-repellent layer 21 and the hydrophilic layer 22, where the cosmetic material 23 is held in at least the hydrophilic layer 22 and the water-repellent layer 21 forms one surface of the sheet-like pack. Also, the release film 24 may preferably be provided on the surface of the cosmetic material 23 on the side of the hydrophilic layer 22. Since the cosmetic material 23 of the pack is held in the holding member 20 in this way, the pack can be prevented from being torn off or remaining unpeeled when the pack 1A is applied to the skin and thereafter peeled. Since also this holding member 20 is moisture-permeable, the film can be formed at a higher rate. Moreover, since this moisture-permeable holding member 20a is of the multi-layer type having the water- repellent layer 21 and the hydrophilic layer 22, the cosmetic material 23 can be made not to come through the surface of the water-repellent layer 21 while making the hydrophilic layer 22 hold the cosmetic material 23, thus the pack can be not sticky and the hands can be prevented from being stained with the cosmetic material 23.
In the present invention, there are no particular limitations on the individual materials for constituting the sheet-like pack, such as those for the water-repellent layer 21 and hydrophilic layer 22 constituting the moisture-permeable holding member 20a, and for the cosmetic material 23 and release film 24. For example, the water-repellent layer 21 and hydrophilic layer 22 constituting the moisture-permeable holding member 20a may be formed of various types of nonwoven fabric, cloth, or a laminate prepared by laminating or bonding any of these to a film. In particular, in view of productivity and cost, nonwoven fabric is preferred. It is also possible to use a material obtained by subjecting such a nonwoven fabric to water-repellent treatment or hydrophilic treatment.
As the cosmetic material 23, various film-forming cosmetic materials conventionally used in peel-off type packs and cosmetic materials capable of forming a water- containing gel as used in cataplasms may be used. It may also be used in the form of a paste already containing sufficient water, or may be used in a dry state at the beginning while supplying water content when actually used.
The cosmetic material 23 may also be made up as a cosmetic material used as any of a moisture-retentive cosmetic material, a sebum-absorptive cosmetic material and a keratotic plug-removable cosmetic material, and may contain components in accordance with the uses . In particular, since the pack of the present invention can be made to adhere closely to the nose various in shape, a pack for the nose which is very suitable as a pack for pores of the skin, used to remove keratotic plugs of the nose, can be obtained when the keratotic plug-removable cosmetic material is used.
In such an instance, as the keratotic plug-removable cosmetic material , in view of forming a film with high film strength, being capable of gripping keratotic plugs of the skin into the film and peeling the film with keratotic plugs from the skin, it is preferable to use as a film forming agent a polymeric compound having an anionic, cationic or amphoteric salt-forming group as disclosed in the claims in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 5-97627, stated more specifically, a salt- forming group such as a carboxyl group, a sulfonic acid residual group, a sulfuric acid residual group, a phosphoric acid residual group, a nitric acid residual group, an amino group and an ammonium group. In particular, those containing polymethacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride is preferred.
As the release film 24, for example, polyester, polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon or the like may be used.
As manners for using the pack for the nose according to the present invention, a pack in which the cosmetic material 23 is pasty may be stuck on the nose as it is, with the side of the cosmetic material 23 on the skin, and may be peeled from the skin after it is dried or a film is formed. In the case of a pack in which the cosmetic material 23 is powdery, first the surface of the pack on its side of the cosmetic material 23 or the skin of the nose may be supplied with water, face lotion or the like. Thereafter, the pack may be stuck on the skin in the same manner as in the pasty one, and may be peeled from the skin after it is dried or a film is formed.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The pack for the nose according to the present invention can fit noses of various shapes. In this instance, by using the keratotic plug-removable cosmetic material as a cosmetic material in the pack for the nose, the pack becomes especially useful as a pack for pores of the skin.
