Description

The invention relates to a spectacle hinge comprising a first part having two protruding parts each pierced with a bore and being spaced apart and placed opposite one another with the axes of their respective bores aligned along the axis of the 'hinge, and a second part having a projecting part pierced with a bore, one of these parts being assembled with the frame of a pair of glasses, or constituting an integral part thereof, and the the other being assembled with one of the arms of the glasses, or constituting an integral part thereof, these two parts being hinged together, with the bored protruding part of the second part placed in the interval between the two protruding parts of the first part, the axis of its bore also being aligned along the axis of the hinge, and held together by means of an elongated cylindrical part passing through said bores.
In known spectacle hinges of this kind, the elongated cylindrical cylindrical part which holds the two articulated parts of the hinge together generally consists of a screw with a cylindrical body, the bores of the two projecting parts of the first part of the hinge being threaded to allow the assembly of these two parts by screwing this screw. It is generally desired to carry out this assembly so that the reamed projecting part of the second part is pinched fairly firmly between the two projecting parts of the first part to slow the pivoting of the branch of the glasses articulated on the frame by means of the hinge. . Indeed, such braking ensures the maintenance of the branches of the glasses in a given spacing position. This position can be, for example, that which corresponds to the maximum spacing of the arms of the glasses, which facilitates the replacement of the glasses with one hand after a temporary removal, for example in the case where the glasses are sunglasses, when wearing these glasses while driving a motor vehicle and passing through a tunnel or any other section of road less lit than the rest of the journey. The adjustment of the braking force of the spectacle arm, which is effected by varying the degree of screwing of the hinge assembly screw, must be done with care to allow the arms to be held in position sufficiently closes without however the effort to exert for their handling becomes excessive. This adjustment is in fact quite delicate, since a very small variation in the degree of screwing of the assembly screw generally results in a significant modification of the tightening force of the protruding part of the second part of the hinge between the two protruding parts of the first part.
On the other hand, it is found, in practice, that the assembly screw undergoes a certain rotational drive as a result of the repetitive maneuvers of the branches of the glasses, which results in an adjustment of the braking force and even very often causes the complete unscrewing of the assembly screw with fall and loss thereof.
The invention aims to eliminate the aforementioned drawbacks. In addition, the invention aims to allow a simplification of the manufacture of spectacle hinges, by eliminating the tapping operation of the bores of the two projecting parts of the first part of the hinge. To this end, the spectacle hinge according to the invention is characterized in that said elongated cylindrical part consists of a pin.
Advantageously, the hinge comprises a sleeve interposed between the wall of the bore of the projecting part of said second part and said pin, by tightening the latter so as to brake the pivoting of the branch of the glasses.
Preferably, the hinge has means for retaining the pin acting in the bore of at least one of the projecting parts of said first part. These retention means may, for example, consist of a part of the pin, located at one end of the latter, elastically deformable so as to have at rest, at least on part of its section, a larger diameter inside diameter of the bore. Advantageously, said part of the pin consists of a head having a diameter greater than that of the central part of the pin and having a slot extending along an axial plane of the pin and extending over a certain length in the direction of this part. central.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, said part of the pin consists of a frustoconical end part, flared towards the end of the pin and having a slot extending along an axial plane of the pin, this frustoconical part being connected to the central part of the pin by forming a shoulder.
Preferably, the aforementioned sleeve has a longitudinal slot, parallel to its axis, this slot extending over the entire length of the sleeve.
The aims and characteristics of the invention, as well as the results which it makes it possible to obtain, will appear even more clearly in the light of the detailed description which follows, of an embodiment of the hinge of glasses according to the invention, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the appended drawing, in which:
La Fig. 1 est une vue en perspective montrant la charnière de lunettes ainsi que l'extrémité de la branche d'une paire de lunettes articulée avec la monture des lunettes au moyen de cette charnière, cette branche étant en position d'ouverture maximale; etFig. 1 is a perspective view showing the hinge of the glasses as well as the end of the branch of a pair of glasses articulated with the frame of the glasses by means of this hinge, this branch being in the maximum open position; and
Fig. 2 is an exploded view illustrating the way in which the various constituent parts of the hinge are assembled together.
As seen in Fig. 1, a first part 1 constituting the hinge is fixed, in a manner known per se, to the frame 3 of a pair of glasses, of which only the neighboring part of the hinge is shown. A second part 2 of the hinge constitutes an integral part of a branch 4 of the glasses, of which it forms one end. The first part 1 has, at its end opposite to that which is fixed to the frame 3, two rounded projecting parts 5 and 5 ', of the same shape and dimension, each pierced with a bore. These projecting parts 5 and 5 ′ are separated and placed opposite one another, with the axes of their respective bores aligned along the axis of the hinge.
The second part 2 has, in lateral position with respect to its free end 2 ′, a rounded protruding part 6, the shape of which corresponds to that of the protruding parts 5 and 5 ′ of the first part and which is extended in the interval between the latter, with a clearance just sufficient to allow the hinge to pivot.
Ainsi, l'arête supérieure 4' de la surface latérale extérieure (non visible au dessin) de la branche 4 vient s'arrêter exactement dans l'alignement de l'arête supérieure 9 de la surface latérale extérieure (non visible) de la pièce 1.The two parts 1 and 2 are assembled and articulated together by means of a pin 7 (shown in full in FIG. 2), of which only the head 8 is visible in FIG. 1. The free end 2 ′ of the part 2 forms a flat surface which abuts, in the position of maximum opening of the branches of the pair of glasses illustrated in FIG. 1, against a corresponding flat surface formed at the end 1 'of the part 1, in the vicinity of the projecting parts 5 and 5'. Thus, the upper edge 4 'of the external lateral surface (not visible in the drawing) of the branch 4 comes to stop exactly in alignment with the upper edge 9 of the external lateral surface (not visible) of the part. 1.
Fig. 2, which better shows the shape of the different parts of the hinge as well as the way in which these are assembled together, allows a better understanding of the role of each of its parts and the functioning of the hinge.
In Fig. 2, the axis of the hinge is shown by a broken line 10 in broken lines.
The head 8 of the pin 7 has a generally flat shape, slightly rounded on its upper face, and it has a diameter greater than that of the central part 11 of this pin. The head 8 forms a flange 12 which comes to bear on the upper surface of the part 1 when the pin 7 is fully inserted in the hinge by crossing the respective bores 13 and 13 'of the protruding parts 5 and 5' of the part one, in order to retain the pin 7.
Ceci permet d'immobiliser la goupille 7 dans la charnière, par serrage de son extrémité portant la tête 8, contre la paroi de l'alésage 13 de la partie saillante supérieure 5 de la pièce 1.On the other hand, the head 8 has a slot 14 which extends along an axial plane of the pin 7 and extends over a certain length towards the central part 11 thereof, the end parts of the pin 7 located on either side of the slot 14 being elastically deformable, so that the diameter of the pin, at these parts, tends to take a value greater than the internal diameter of the bores 13 and 13 ', while the part central 1 1 of the pin 7 has a diameter less than the internal diameters of said bores 13 and 13 * . This makes it possible to immobilize the pin 7 in the hinge, by tightening its end carrying the head 8, against the wall of the bore 13 of the upper projecting part 5 of the part 1.
La partie tronconique 15 est raccordée à la partie centrale 11 de la goupille 7 en formant un épaulement 17.The other end of the pin 7 is constituted by a frustoconical part 15 which is flared towards the end of the pin and which has a slot 16 which also extends, in an axial plane, to the pin. The frustoconical part 15 is connected to the central part 11 of the pin 7 by forming a shoulder 17.
Ceci permet d'immobiliser la goupille 7 par serrage de sa partie tronconique 15 contre la paroi de l'alésage 13'.The end parts of the pin 7, located on either side of the slot 16, are elastically deformable so that the maximum diameter of the frustoconical part 15 tends to take a value greater than the internal diameter of the bore 13 '. This makes it possible to immobilize the pin 7 by tightening its frustoconical part 15 against the wall of the bore 13 '.
It is therefore understood that, when the pin 7 is in place in the hinge, it is firmly held in a fixed position relative to the first part 1, thanks to the fact that the clamping of its ends inside the bores 13 and 13 ' opposes its sliding in axial translation as well as its rotation around the axis of the hinge. It remains of course always possible to force the pin 7 out of the bores 13 and 13 'to dismantle the hinge. It is also understood that the second part 2 of the hinge through which the central part 11 of the pin 7 passes can itself pivot freely around the pin 7 without driving the latter in rotation. However, the pivoting of the protruding part 6 of the second part 2, around the pin 7, is braked by means of a sleeve 18 which is advantageously made of plastic material, for example polytetrafluorinated ethylene, this sleeve being housed in the bore 13 "of the protruding part 6. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the sleeve 18 advantageously has a longitudinal slot 19, parallel to its axis, which extends over its entire length.
Ainsi, le manchon 18 est maintenu en position parfaitement définie à l'intérieur de l'alésage 13".The upper end of the sleeve 18 has a flange 20 which is received in a shoulder 21, of corresponding shape, formed at the upper part of the bore 13 ". When the hinge is assembled, the upper face of the flange 20 of the sleeve 18 abuts against the lower surface of the projecting part 5 of the part 1, while its lower face 22 is retained by the shoulder 21. Thus, the sleeve 18 is maintained in a perfectly defined position inside the 13 "bore.
From the foregoing description, it will be understood that the arrangement of the hinge according to the invention is particularly simple and that it makes it possible to obtain good operation, in particular a braking force on the pivoting of the branch of the glasses which is constant in over time, without requiring any initial adjustment or further subsequent adjustment and without the risk of involuntary extraction of the cylindrical part used to assemble the two main parts 1 and 2 of the hinge.
