Abstract
An electrical terminal intended to be inserted into a flange of an electrical coil bobbin as a serated mounting arm at one end, a U-shaped crimp portion at the other end and a laterally extending tab between the mounting arm and the crimp portion. The mounting arm is inserted into a hole in the bobbin flange, a wire from the coil is crimped to the terminal at the crimp portion, and the mounting arm is then bent towards the coil so that the tab extends parallel to the coil windings.

PATENTED 11m 3 11912 L m xwi M w 6 ELECTRICAL BOBBIN wmi TERMINALS BACKGROUND OF THE. INVENTION This application is a division of application Ser. No. 66,379 filed Aug. 24, 1970, now U.S. Pat.v No. 3,641,650, hereby incorporated by reference.
FIG. 1 is a view of terminal strips 7 FIG. 2 is a view of an electrical bobbin with terminals.
The present invention is directed particularly to an electrical terminal 14 which may be manufactured in the form of a left and right hand strip l5, 15. Each terminal has a mounting'arm 16 which has serated sides, a
v laterally extending tab 18 which is adapted to receive a receptacle type terminal, and a ferrule forming portion 20 extending from the tab and in alignment with the arm 16. The mounting arm is inserted into a hole 36 in a heavy section 12 'of a flange 10 of a bobbin 4. A coil winding 34 is connected to the terminal by crimping a ferrule forming portion 20 and the arm 16 is then bent so that the terminal will extend parallel to the windings Further structural details of terminals inaccordance with the invention and bobbin in terminal assemblies in accordance with the invention are set forth in the above identified U.S. Pat. No. 3,641,650. This patent also disclosed apparatus for inserting the terminal of the instant application into bobbins and simultaneously crimping the ferrule portions 20, 20' onto coil wires.
What is claimed is:
1.' In combination with an electrical coil wound on a bobbin having a flange at least one end thereof an electrical connecting device, I
of the coil and will be located close to the bobbin 4. I The terminal may be manufactured as a righthand strip or a lefthand strip as shown at l5, 15' so that the tabs 14, 14' will extend in opposite directions after assembly of terminals to a bobbin.
