Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. lpiiml, dated December 24, 1861.
To @ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it ,known-that l, S. G. MORRISON, of Williamsport, in the county of Lycoming and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Canteen; and I do hereby deelare 'that the following is a full and exact de scription thereof, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, vand to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in pro-4 and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
construct my canteen of any desired form and material, and apply thereto a gum-elastic or cone having a hole in its center, which hole is bound with a ring: ot gum-elastic on the outer or upper side of the cape, and having attached thereto a film of gum-elastic of l any required width for the purpose of lling the aperture of the ring when the cape is removed from the canteen and reversed for the purpose of a cup, (marked A,) and fitting toA and extending down around the .body of the canteen to the dotted line a a. in Fig. l.
