June 18 1968 s, NAUGHTEN 3,388,835
LOTION AND BUBBLE BATH DISPENSER Filed Feb. 18. 1966 IN V EN TOR.
Larry S- Naughfen United States Patent 3,388,835 LOTION AND BUBBLE BATH DISPENSER Larry S. Naughten, 18509 73 W., Edmonds, Wash. 98020 Filed Feb. 13, 1966, Ser. No. 528,502 1 Claim. (Cl. 222-78) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dispenser for lotion or bubble bath, the device comprising a container of toy-like character, a dispensing mechanism including a plunger tube attached to one end of a suction cylinder, the plunger tube extending downwardly into the liquid contained within the container, the plunger tube being attached at the lower end of the suction cylinder, a sidewardly extending flexible tube out of which the liquid is dispensed, and an upper plunger tube connected to the upper end of the suction cylinder, the upper plunger tube having a press-button at its upper end.
This invention relates to dispensing devices for liquids, and more particularly a lotion and bubble bath dispenser.
It is therefore the main purpose of this invention to provide a lotion and bubble bath dispenser which appears in a toy-like shape.
Another object of this invention is to provide a lotion and bubble bath dispenser which is provided with a nozzle that may be directed in all directions.
Another object of this invention is to provide a lotion and bubble bath dispenser which is provided with a suction cup for attaching said dispenser to a flat surface.
Still another object of this invention is to provide a tion and bubble bath dispenser which is inexpensive to manufacture and provides maximum utility to its user.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will be come apparent from a consideration of the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein a satisfactory embodiment of the invention is shown. However, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the details disclosed but includes all such variations and modifications as fall within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claim.
In the drawing:
FIGURE 1 is a front view of this invention shown in operative use and partly broken away.
FIGURE 2 is a side elevation of FIGURE 1 showing the holding member in phantom lines.
FIGURE 3 is a side elevation of the tube member shown removed from the invention.
FIGURE 4 is an enlarged fragmentary view showing the suction cup removed therefrom.
According to this invention, a lotion and bubble bath dispenser 10 is provided with an upper plunger tube 11. A press button 12 is firmly secured to the upper extremity of tube 11. A conventional suction cylinder 13 is adapted to admit the bottom portion of tube 11. A lower plunger tube 14 is secured to the bottom portion of suction cylinder 13. A flexible plastic tube 15 extends from the side portion of cylinder 13 and is adapted to ice eject liquid from the container plunger tube 14 when button 12 is depressed. As can be seen from FIGURE 1 of the drawing, a toy-like head 16 is secured on tube 11. Cylinder 13 and tube 14 are enclosed by the main portion of toy-like configuration which actually serves as container 17 for lotion or liquid soap. Arm- like configurations 18 and 22 are flexibly secured to said toy-like container 17. Arm 18 is adapted to house the flexible plastic tube 15 which is adapted to move not only up and down, but also forward and backward, so that flexible tube 15 may be in line with the water flow from faucet 23a, regardless of the position of the toy. Arm 22 serves an ornamental purpose only. The bottom portion of container 17 is provided with a threaded neck 24. Cap 19 which also may serve as a stand for container 17, is adapted to be removably secured on the neck 24.
It will also be noted that a suction cup 20 is provided for securing said lotion and bubble bath dispenser 10 to a fiat surface, such as the porcelain covered interior wall of a bathtub. In order to admit a hook-like insert 23 of the suction cup 20, flexible wall of the container 17 is provided with a recess 21 as shown in FIGURE 4 of the drawing.
What I now claim is:
1. A lotion and bubble bath dispenser comprising, in combination, a container of toy-like configuration, said container having a body, said container being hollow for containing said lotion or bubble bath, an opening at the lower end of said container for placement of said lotion or bubble bath therewithin, said opening being enclosed by a cap member having a relatively broad, circular base upon which container may stand, an opening at the opposite, upper end of said container receiving a plunger tube comprising an upper plunger tube having a press button at its upper end, the lower end of said upper plunger tube being connected to a suction cylinder, a lower plunger tube being connected to the lower end of said suction cylinder, said lower plunger tube depending into said lotion or bubble bath liquid, a sidewardly extending flexible tube connected at one end to said suction cylinder, said upper plunger tube extending through a member comprising a configurated head of said toy configurated container, said flexible tube extending through a movable arm configurated member of said toy-like configuration, said arm being movable upwardly, downwardly and sidewardly, said arm being likewise flexible, whereby said arm may be directed toward a stream of water from a faucet, and a second arm, upon said container for appearance purposes, and said container having upon its rear side a vacuum cup rigidly secured for purpose of attachment to a vertical surface.
