(Cl. 128-519) The object of the present invention is to provide a slacks and girdle combination for feminine use, in which the waistband elements of the slacks and those for the girdle are so formed as to enable ready detachment of the girdle for cleansing and re-application. Slide fastener means are employed to releasably connect the girdle and the waistband of the slacks, and the assembly is such as to conceal the slide fastener elements and protect the wearer from contact therewith. When the girdle is removed, the waistband of the slacks has the same appearance and comfort as without the girdle elements.

The invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:

FIG. 1 is a view in front elevation of the combined slacks and girdle, an upper area of the slacks and girdle being brought down to show the inner construction and the relation of vertical slide fastening elements;

FIG. 2 is a view in elevation, looking at the front of the combination garment, and broken away to expose primary elements of the girdle, a shield strip of the slacks waist band assembly being partly broken away and raised;

FIG. 3 is a vertical section on the line 3-3, FIG. 1.

Referring to the drawings, it will be seen that the girdle 1 is shown as positioned within slacks 2. The girdle may be of any suitable body formation and material, as for example of two-way stretch material. In the drawings, the girdle is shown as a pantie type, and customarily it will be provided with a front inelastic panel 3, and a crotch 4.

Referring to FIG. 1, it will be seen that at one side the slacks are provided with a longitudinal opening. At the said opening, and exteriorly, is a flap 5. Inasmuch as flap 5 is turned back, slide fastener element 6 is hidden by the flap, except for a minor end area thereof. A slide fastener element 6, adapted to coact with a slide fastener '7 on a second fiap 8, is positioned at the outward side of the opening.

The waist band assembly of the slacks is formed by an outermost band 9 seamed, as customary, to the fabric of the slacks body, and to the latter is seamed a second band 19, carrying a line of slide fastener elements for coaction with the girdle. Overlying band 10, the slacks waist band carries a shield strip 11 for concealing the slacks and girdle slide fastener elements, the latter being indicated at lllx, from the body of the wearer.

In both figures of the drawing, the girdle 1 is shown in position within the slacks. It is provided with a side opening. In the position of the figures, the opening is "ice bounded at one side by a relatively wide tape 12, carrying a line of slide fastener elements 14. Also at the opposite side of the opening is applied a tape 15, provided with coacting slide fastener elements 16.

At its top margin and extending along the same, the girdle is provided with a tape 17 carrying slide fastener elements 18 adapted to coact with the corresponding elements ltlx on the slacks waist band assembly. To provide shield means for said slide fastener assembly of the girdle is a wide tape 18 seamed to the top of the girdle.

By means of the invention, the girdle can readily be detached from the slacks, cleansed, and restored, by an assembly at the waist hand area of the slacks and girdle, which gives special protection at the area between the slide fastener elements and the body of the wearer, so that the combination is comfortable, while having adequate support.

It is to be understood that certain customary elements of the waist band, and for connecting them independently of the slide fastener, such as hooks and eyes or snap fasteners, may be employed, forming no part of the invention, they are not illustrated in detail.

Having described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is as follows:

A combination slacks and girdle comprising an inner girdle body and an outer slacks body each provided with a waistband and each provided with a side opening leading downwardly from its waistband, complementary slide fasteners carried by the sides, complementary slide fasteners carried by the slacks body at the sides of its said side opening, a second band of said opening in the middle girdle body carried by the slacks waist band inwardly thereof, slide fastener elements carried by said second band longitudinally thereof, slide fastener elements carried by the girdle waistband longitudinally thereof for engagement with those carried by the slack waistband, a third and shield band carried by the slacks waistband inwardly thereof and overlying the longitudinally extending slide fasteners of second band and those of the girdle waistband, whereby the girdle may be applied to the slacks, may be removed for cleansing, and whereby shield means is afforded intermediate the waist area of the combined garment and the body of the wearer.
