Description

Jan. 24, 1961 ETTA MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR SAFETY RAZORS Filed Dec. 51, 1959 INVENTOR.
United States Patent MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR SAFETY RAZORS Albert J. Avetta, 2109 W. Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh 26, Pa.
Filed Dec. 31, 1959, Ser. No. 863,178
1 Claim. (Cl. 206-16) This invention relates to new and useful improvements in mounting brackets for safety razors, and it is among the objects thereof to provide a mounting bracket which may be packed in the same container in which the razor is sold and function as a spacing element for holding the razor in its proper position and against displacement in its casing or housing.
The invention will become more apparent from a consideration of the accompanying drawing constituting a part hereof in which like reference characters designate like parts and in which:
Figure 1 is a view in perspective of a plastic box or container for housing a razor with a spacing and mounting bracket provided therein embodying the principles of this invention;
Figure 2, a view in perspective of a razor mounting bracket and spacing element; and,
Figure 3 an end elevational view, partially in section, of the mounting bracket attached to the wall for supporting a safety razor.
With reference to the several figures of the drawing, the numeral 1 designates a flange of a razor mounting bracket having a base 2 with lips 3 and 4 divided by a slot 5. The flange 1 of the bracket may be provided with an adhesive surface 6 covered by a moisture-proof sheet material or cover 7 which may be stripped from the adhesive surface, as shown, to expose the same for adherence to a wall surface 8, Figure 3. A safety razor designated by the numeral 9 may be inserted in the slot of the wings 3 and 4 and seated on the base 2, as shown in Figure 3.
ice
The bracket may be shipped in the container shown in the dot and dash line of Figure 1 designated by the numeral 10 in which it is held by snap-on lugs 11 and 12, which are fixed to the base 13 of the casing 10, the edges of the base being provided with recesses 14 to receive the lugs 11 and 12.
The base 13 of the container 10 is provided with an elongated slot 15 for receiving the edge of the razor 9, as shown, the stem of the razor shown in dotted lines and designated by the numeral 16 extending in a horizontal direction in the slot 5 between the lips 3 and 4 of the razor bracket.
The cover of the casing 10 is provided with a snap-on lug that engages the slot 17 of the base 13 to secure the cover in its closed position.
From the foregoing, it is apparent that a razor mounting bracket made of a plastic material with an adhesive flange can be incorporated in a razor casing as a spacing element for holding a razor in proper position, and at the same time be employed for mounting the razor on a wall or mirror of the bathroom Where it will not be scuffed around with other toilet articles.
Although one embodiment of the invention has been herein illustrated and described, it will be evident to those skilled in the art that various modifications may be made in the details of construction without departing from the principles herein set forth.
I claim:
In a razor case, a base, a cover therefor, said base having a recess at one end for receiving a cutting side of a razor and a cradle member detachably secured to said base having a slotted portion for receiving the handle of the razor, said cradle member having a vertical flange constituting an end abutment for the razor handle and one side of said flange having an adhesive surface for mounting on a wall to constitute the cradle a mounting bracket for the razor with the handle depending from the slotted pontion of the cradle member.
