BEDSTEAD-FASTENING.

Specification of Letters Patent 1\To.y 24,085, dated May 24,k 18159'.

To all 'whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE W. BAKER, of Cochranton, in the county of Crawford, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Bedstead-Fastening; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full the round head P of the hook D is placed so that the end s of the hook will move freely up and down; this box E is screwed on to the post A with the cavity side of the box against the rail B, B, thereby keeping the hook D in its place. On the convex side of the box E is a slot m in which the shaft of the hook D works.'

F is a toothed rack screwed on the shoulder of the rail, andl in which the end s of the hook D hooks, and when any weight is placed upon the rail B, B, it drops down in the mortise z', z', in the post, thereby increasing the distance between E and F which draws on the hook D thereby drawing the rail B, B, and the post- A more tightly together the more weight is added on the rail B, B.v

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The box E, the hook D and the rack F when the same are used and combinedsubstantially in the manner described and for the purposes set forth.
