  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Use of the word exemplary is intended to present concepts in a concrete fashion. As used in this application, the term “or” is intended to mean an inclusive “or” rather than an exclusive “or”. That is, unless specified otherwise, or clear from context, “X employs A or B” is intended to mean any of the natural inclusive permutations. That is, if X employs A; X employs B; or X employs both A and B, then “X employs A or B” is satisfied under any of the foregoing instances. In addition, the articles “a” and “an” as used in this application and the appended claims should generally be construed to mean “one or more” unless specified otherwise or clear from context to be directed to a singular form. Furthermore, to the extent that the terms “including”, “includes”, “having”, “has”, “with”, or variants thereof are used in either the detailed description and the claims, such terms are intended to be inclusive in a manner similar to the term “comprising.”
  • The adjustable container handle accessory may provide an additional handle on containers and other objects of varying shape and size. The detailed description will further describe each feature, starting with FIG. 1A, as purpose of discussion and illustration, and is not limiting with respect to any embodiment or with respect to the claims. In alternative embodiments, the handle component may include multiple handles 108 at varying locations around the plurality of straps 102.
  • A clasp recession 105 may be located at the opposite end of the belt system 103 on each of the plurality of straps 102. The clasp recession 105 is a recession of material in the plurality of straps 102. A recession of material may also be referred to as a negative extrusion or a cut out of the material. Alternatively, the clasp recession 105 may be located at any other position on the plurality of straps 102. One or more clasp openings 106 includes one or more holes that may be located within the clasp recession 105. In other embodiments, the one or more clasp openings 106 has one hole, two holes, three holes or more. In the present embodiment the clasp recession 105 surrounds the one or more of clasp openings 106 and is recessed a portion of the way through the plurality of straps 102.
  • Referring to FIG. 1B, an internal support 107 may be located within the handle 108 or throughout the handle component 100 to provide additional support and rigidity. The material may be a metal, elastomer, or other polymer. In other embodiments, the internal support 107 is located outside of the handle 108.
  • Referring to FIG. 2A, a belt recession 104, which is a plurality of recessed portions around each of the holes in the belt system 103 on one of the plurality of straps 102, is depicted. In this embodiment, each hole of the belt system 103 has its own individual recessed portion around each hole. FIG. 2B shows a belt clasp recession 114 that is a plurality of recessed portions of the plurality of straps 102 located around a plurality of clasp openings 106.
  • FIG. 3 shows a clasp recession 105 and the one or more clasp openings 106 on one of the sides of the plurality of straps 102. In one embodiment, the clasp recession 105 is single recession that surrounds the clasp openings 106. In other embodiments, the clasp recession 105 is a plurality of recessions around each individual clasp opening 106. In one embodiment, the clasp recession 105 is on the opposite side of the clasp openings 106 as the belt clasp recession 114.
  • Referring to FIG. 4A, a clasp component 200 is depicted. A prong support piece 201 is a piece or substrate may be comprised of a metal, polymer, elastomer, or other material. In one embodiment, the prong support piece 201 has two curved faces separated by a distance. Alternatively, the prong support piece 201 may have two flat faces separated by a distance. The faces of the prong support piece 201 may be curved but roughly square shaped with rounded corners. The prong support piece 201 may also be circular, triangular, trapezoidal, or any other shape. One or more clasp prongs 202 extend from the prong support piece 201. The clasp prong may include a first snap piece 203 that can be located around the middle of the clasp prong 202 and extend outward from the clasp prong 202. Alternatively, the first snap piece 203 may be located closer or farther from the prong support piece 201. A second snap piece 204 can be located at the end of clasp prong 202 and in some embodiments is larger than the first snap piece 203. In alternative embodiments, the clasp prong 202 may include additional structures or fastening features, and the second snap piece 204 is smaller than the first snap piece. In some embodiments, the one or more clasp prongs 202 are the same, in other embodiments, each of the one or more prong clasp prongs 202 are different.
  • Referring to FIG. 4B, the clasp component 200, including the first snap piece 203, the second snap piece 204, and the prong support piece 201 are viewed in a different perspective. Referring to FIG. 5, a side view of clasp component 200 is depicted.
  • Referring to FIG. 6, the orientation of clasp component 200 is shown prior to being connected with the handle component 100.
  • Referring to FIG. 7, the clasp component 200 is inserted into the clasp recession 105 and the one or more clasp prongs 202 are inserted through the one or more clasp openings 106. One or more first snap pieces 203 are pressed through the one or more clasp openings 106. The one or more first snap pieces 203 may form a pressure or snap fit with one or more belt clasp recessions 114 to securely join the clasp component 200 with the handle component 100. In this configuration, the one or more clasp prongs 202 and second snap piece 204 may be exposed while the one or more first snap pieces 203 and the prong support piece 201 may be housed inside the belt system recession 114 and clasp recession 105 of one or more of the plurality of straps 102.
  • Referring to FIG. 8, the clasp component 200 is placed through the clasp recession 105 and the belt system 103. The clasp recession 105 and belt recession 104 may be used to contain clasp component 200 and prevent it from contacting the container, In alternative embodiments, the clasp component 200 is not contained within the clasp recession 105 and belt recession 104. The first snap piece 203 and the second snap piece 204 can provide support to maintain the connection of each end of one of the plurality of the straps 102.
  • FIG. 9 depicts an embodiment of an adjustable handle accessory 300 that includes the handle component 100 in an unrolled position with clasp component 200 inserted.
