Description
- The instant non-provisional patent application contains subject matter contained in non-provisional patent application Ser. No. 15/530,512, filed on Jan. 23, 2017, by Randy Gifford, for a “Hand-held Device For Removing Shells From Eggs That Have Been Hard Boiled”, and is incorporated herein in its entirety by reference thereto.
- The embodiments of the present invention relate to a hand-held device, and more particularly, the embodiments of the present invention relate to a hand-held device for removing shells from eggs that have been hard boiled.
- Numerous innovations for egg peelers have been provided in the prior art, which will be described below in chronological order to show advancement in the art. Even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, however, they differ from the embodiments of the present invention.
- U.S. Pat. No. 2,535,980 issued to Yeamans on Dec. 26, 1950 in US class 99 and subclass 574 teaches a device including a bracket and a drum mounted for horizontal rotation on the bracket. The drum has one end open and its other end closed. Further included is apparatus mounted on the bracket and operatively connected with the closed end of the drum for imparting rotary motion thereto, a substantially U-shaped member having spaced and relatively broad side portions projecting inwardly at the open end of the drum adjacent to the lower part of the side wall thereof and adapted to receive between the portions an egg placed within the drum upon the lower part of the drum side wall, and teeth formed along the opposed surfaces of the side portions of the U-shaped member. The teeth engage the egg when the egg is placed within the drum. Still further included is an apparatus on the bracket for supporting the outer end of the member.
- U.S. Pat. No. 2,962,067 issued to Mesojedee on Nov. 29, 1960 in US class 99 and subclass 516 teaches an egg holder and sheller including a cylinder having a handle-equipped cap on an upper end thereof and a valved piston mounted for reciprocation on the cylinder. The cap has a central bearing. Further included is a rod attached to the piston and mounted fro reciprocation in the bearing. The rod is provided at its upper end with a finger-grip. Still further included a circular collar the lower end portion of the cylinder and is detachably connected thereto, a truncated conical egg basing and perching mount fitting telescopically up into the cylinder and having a flange at its lower end connected to a flange at to lower end of the collar.
- U.S. Pat. No. 3,552,458 issued to Whitman on Jan. 5, 1971 in US class 99 and subclass 574 a hard-cooked egg deshelling mechanism including a shell cracking apparatus, as a tumbling barrel arrangement, or compressor belt structure, and cracked shell removing apparatus in the form of a pair of rotating resilient rolls along which the cracked eggs are advanced by a belt.
- U.S. Pat. No. 4,056,051 issued to Brown on Nov. 1, 1977 in US class 99 and subclass 516 teaches a handy, light weight tool that is used to automatically shell a hard boiled egg. The egg shell is punctured at both ends, and the complete egg is inserted about half of its length into the tool. When either water or air pressure is then applied to the tool, the egg is squirted out of its shell and the open end of the tool.
- U.S. Pat. No. 4,149,456 issued to Gisonni on Apr. 17, 1979 in US class 99 and subclass 577 teaches a hard-boiled egg peeler, including a cylindrical housing defining sidewall openings through which prongs extend. The prongs are anchored at their outermost extent and protrude inwardly to a point proximate the center of the housing, terminating thereat in hook-like end portions. The prongs have a sufficient width and are in sufficient number to substantially retain the peeled egg shell after a hard-boiled egg is pushed through the cylinder, past the prongs, and with its shell removed by the hook-like portions. Resilient material is placed between each prong and the inner sidewall of the housing to provide additional resilience to the prongs.
- German Patent Number DE202010010705 issued to Amit et al. on Nov. 25, 2010 teaches a container that is used to remove the shell of a hard-boiled egg, by the hard-boiled egg being shaken inside the container, thus braking the shell, and the broken egg shell against the container inner walls is abraded, and thus peeled off substantially.
- It is apparent that numerous innovations for egg peelers have been provided in the prior art, which are adapted to be used. Furthermore, even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, however, they would not be suitable for the purposes of the present invention as heretofore described, namely,
- Thus, it is an object of the embodiments of the present invention to provide a hand-held device for removing shells from eggs that have been hard boiled, which avoids the disadvantages of the prior art.
- Briefly stated, another object of the embodiments of the present invention is to provide a hand-held device that removes shells from eggs that have been hard boiled. The hand-held device includes a container. The container is egg-shaped, receives the eggs that have been hard boiled, and remove the shells from the eggs that have been hard boiled.
- The novel features considered characteristic of the embodiments of the present invention are set forth in the appended claims. The embodiments of the present invention themselves, however, both as to their construction and to their method of operation together with additional objects and advantages thereof will be best understood from the following description of the specific embodiments when read and understood in connection with the accompanying figures of the drawing.
