Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (a) Technical Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to bamboo cabinets and more particularly to a sliding box and box space arrangement of a bamboo cabinet, which is environmentally friendly.
  • (b) Description of the Prior Art
  • Wood, plastics, and many other materials are selectively used for making display racks, storage racks or storage containers. In order to show an antique sense of beauty, bamboo or wood material is the best choice for making storage racks and storage containers.
  • Further, to facilitate smooth sliding of a bamboo sliding box in a box space of a bamboo cabinet, metal or plastic male and female sliding members are provided between the bottom wall of the bamboo sliding box and the bottom wall of the box space for matching. However, when the bamboo cabinet is damaged, the metal or plastic male and female sliding members must be detached from the bamboo cabinet for recycling. If the damaged bamboo cabinet is directly thrown away, the metal or plastic male and female sliding members will not decompose. Directly throwing waste plastic sliding members into nature will pollute the environment.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a sliding box and box space arrangement, which is environmentally friendly.
  • To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a sliding box and box space arrangement uses bamboo for all the component parts so that when the structure is damaged and thrown into nature, it will decompose, avoiding environmental pollution.
  • To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a sliding box and box space arrangement comprises a cabinet having a box space, and a sliding box insertable in and out of the box space. The box space has two narrow elongated bamboo rails longitudinally fixedly mounted on the bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides in a parallel manner. The narrow elongated bamboo rails have an inverted V cross section. The sliding box has two longitudinal V-grooves located on the bamboo bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides corresponding to the narrow elongated bamboo rails and respectively coupled to the narrow elongated bamboo rails.
  • Further, each longitudinal V-groove has a stop edge disposed at the front end thereof and spaced from the front wall of the sliding box at a predetermined distance.
  • In an alternate form of the present invention, each longitudinal V-groove has a front end and a rear end respectively extended to the front and rear sides of the sliding box. Further, each narrow elongated bamboo rail has a front end and a rear end respectively extended to the front and rear sides of the box space.
  • In another alternate form of the present invention, the box space has two longitudinal V-grooves located on the bamboo bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides, and the sliding box has two narrow elongated bamboo rails of inverted V cross section longitudinally fixedly mounted on the bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides in a parallel manner corresponding to the longitudinal V-grooves
  • Further, the longitudinal V-grooves can be made having the front and rear ends thereof respectively extended to the front and rear sides of the box space, and the narrow elongated bamboo rails can be made having the front and rear ends thereof respectively extended to the front and rear sides of the sliding box.
  • Further, the sliding box has a front panel and a rear panel, and the narrow elongated bamboo rails can be made extending longitudinally between the rear side of the front panel and the front side of the rear panel.
  • The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
  • Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1A, 1B and 1C, a sliding box 1 is insertable in and out of a box space 21 in a cabinet 2. The cabinet 2 has two narrow elongated bamboo rails 22 fixedly mounted on the bottom wall of the box space 21 at two opposite lateral sides in a parallel manner and extending from the rear side of the box space 21 to the front side thereof. The narrow elongated bamboo rails 22 have an inverted V cross section. The sliding box 1 has two longitudinal V-grooves 11 located on the bamboo bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides corresponding to the narrow elongated bamboo rails 22, and a stop edge 111 at one end, namely, the front end of each of the longitudinal V-grooves 11. The front end, i.e., the stop edge 111 is spaced from the front wall of the sliding box 1 at a small distance so that the longitudinal V-grooves 11 are not visible from the front side of the sliding box 1. By means of attaching the rear open ends of the longitudinal V-grooves 11 of the sliding box 1 to the narrow elongated bamboo rails 22, the sliding box 1 is movable in and out of the box space 21 of the cabinet 2 smoothly. When the sliding box 1 is fully inserted into the inside of the box space 21 of the cabinet 2, the stop edges 111 are respectively stopped against the front ends of the narrow elongated bamboo rails 22.
  • FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C show a second embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, the cabinet 2 has two longitudinal V-grooves 23 arranged on the bamboo bottom wall of the box space 21 at two opposite lateral sides in a parallel manner; the sliding box 1 has two narrow elongated bamboo rails 12 longitudinally arranged on the bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides in a parallel manner corresponding to the longitudinal V-grooves 23 of the cabinet 2. The two narrow elongated bamboo rails 12 have a V-shaped cross section fitting the cross section of the longitudinal V-grooves 23.
  • FIGS. 3A, 3B and 3C show a third embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, the sliding box 1 has two narrow elongated bamboo rails 12 longitudinally arranged on the bottom wall thereof at two opposite lateral sides in a parallel manner. The two narrow elongated bamboo rails 12 have a V-shaped cross section. The two narrow elongated bamboo rails 12 have the front and rear ends thereof respectively spaced from the front and rear sides of the sliding box 1 at a distance S that is equal to the thickness of the front panel 13 and the thickness of the rear panel 14. Thus, a number of sliding boxes 1 can be arranged in a stack by fitting the narrow elongated bamboo rails 12 of one upper sliding box 1 into the inside space of one lower sliding box 1 (see FIGS. 3B and 3C).
  • It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
  • While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
