J. HUNYADY DI SPLAY REVOLVING S TAND Filed Nov. 18, 1926 Patented Apr. 22 i930 JOSEPH HUNYADY, OF MOUNT LEBANON, PENNSYLVANIA DISPLAY REVOLVING STAND Application filed November 18, 1926. Serial N'o. 149,046.
My invention relates to improvements in devices. for exhibiting or displaying small mechandise.
The object of my invention is to produce a device of this general character in the use of which a variety of small merchandise may be readily and conveniently displayed, and ready for distribution or sale.
I accomplish this by means of the device hereinafter more specifically described, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof in which,
Figure 1, is an elevation of my improved goods exhibition rack;
Figure, 2, is a section on line 2--2 of Figure 1; p Figure 3, is a fragmentary plan view'of the supporting spider;
Figure 4, is a fragmentary view of the lower portion of the device, showing the standard in section;
Figures 5 and 6 are details showing respec tively a plan view and an elevation of the partition plate.
Referring to said drawings, 1, is a base or stand having a centrally disposed orifice 2,- in which the lower end oft'he shaft 3 is mounted for rotation. A roller-bearing b is positioned in the cup-shaped recess a, in the lower end of the orifice, upon which the lower end of the shaft 3, is mounted, said shaft having a concave bearing in which the roller bearing 1) is seated. The said stand near the upper end thereof, is provided with are cess in which is seated an anti-friction bearing race Way, which race way comprises the annulus or rings 0, d, the ring d being rigidly secured to the shaft, and the ring 0 being rigidly secured in said recess, whereby the ring cl rotates with the shaft upon the ball bearing seated between the said ring 03 and the said ring 0, whereby said shaft is held against lateral movement and wear thereof is prevented. A spider 4, is rigidly secured upon the shaft by any means, as for instance a A rotatable display rack, comprising a 75 thumb screw or other suitable device. A series of plates 6 are mounted upon the shaft one above the other as shown in Figure 1, the said plates forming platforms for the reception of small merchandise; the said platforms being divided into series of compartments by the partition plates 5, the inner ends of which are seated in slots 6 vertically formed in the tubes 7 which surround said shaft 3 approximately its entire length, the said tubes being rigidly mounted and secured upon said shaft. The upper and lower edges of said partition are provided with a flange h, as shown, for the purpose of producing rigidity therein and furnishing a suitable support for the platform plates immediately above the same. In installing the said plates to form partitions in the structure, the inner ends are shoved into the recesses in the thimble and the outer edges brought in close contact with the annular flange on the platform plates 6, whereby the said platform plates are divided into series of spaces or compartments in which the small merchandise is located for the purpose of display and to be readily accessible for sale.
, Having described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent stand having a recess in its'upper end thereof in which an anti-friction bearing is seated, and having a central vertically disposed socket therein, a shaft rotatably seated in said socket, one portion of the anti-friction bear- .30
ing being secured to said shaft whereby the said shaft is held against lateral movement and wear thereof is prevented, a member rigidly mounted on said shaft, a tube surrounding said shaft approximately the entire length thereof and rigidlysecured thereto, the said tube having series of vertically, disposed grooves, in combination with a frame sub stantially cylindrical in configuration and including a series of vertically disposed plates arranged radially with relation to said tube, the inner ends of said plates being inserted in the grooves in said tube, and a series of horizontally disposed circular platforms arranged one above the other, the said vertically disposed plates subdividing the said platforms into series of compartments for the reception of small merchandise.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name.
JOSEPH HUNYADY.
