To all whom 'it may concern.:

Be itlmown that we, NICHOLAS J. BOLT, of Howell, in the county of Livingston and V Stute of Michigan, and JOHN Lesen, of De troit, iu the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Clamps; and We do declare that the following is e true and accurate description thereof, reference being hadto the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon and being a. part of this specification, in Which-- several. parts, as is more fully hereinafter set forth.

In the drawing, A A represent triangular hers, both hollow on their under feces, and the letter adapted to slide over the former, each bar being hooked at the outer end, as shown. The inner end of the ber A is provided with Ye Lvolte, B, through which the bar A slides. In s recess or in a, socket in the top of the yoke I pivot the lower end of a. lever, C, in a slot in which, above the pivot, passes one end of e bar, D, whose other end is pivoted to :t pin, a', transversely inserted through e longi tudinal slot in the back of the bar A. There are several pin-holes through the slot in this flier, through either of which the said pin may be inserted to increase or decrease the space between the jaws of the clamp. When thrown down over the bar A the lever C acts as a cam, to drew the clainphars together.

The inner faces of the jaws may be grooved or recessed to recei\` j rubber or leather facings to prevent the marring of the articles which are clamped together bythis device.

What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
