An objectof the invention resldes' n the provision of a cuff button which will be con structed of the minimum number of parts and formed in such manner. asto be securely held in position and prevented from turning in the cuff. i

' vThe inventionhas for another object the provision of a cuff button which will be constructed in such a manner that when serted and turned in the cufi, the opposite ends of the movable member will bear against the material to either side of the button hole while the center of the movable member extendsinto the button hole, thereby securely clamping the button in proper position.

i A further object of the invention resides in the provision of a cuff button which will be of extremely simple construction as wel as highly eflicient in use.

It will: be readily seen that a cuff-button formed in this, manner will automatically lock itself in the member or members through I which the shank 1 is engaged, as the link. 5 I will automatically adjust itself to proper. toward the material with which the link has position with the concaved side of the link the button holes or i 7' abinding engagement. While the preferred embodiments of the. invention have been shown and described, it

will vbe understood that minor changes in the details of construction, and arrangement of parts may be resorted to within the scope of the'appended claims without departing from the spirit'of the invention or. sacrlficing any of theadvantages of the same.

What is claimed is:

r 1. A cuff buttoncomprising a shank, an arcuate. link member. 'slidably engaged throughand adapted to swing uponsaid shank, said link member including a concave I side and a convex side, a portion of said concave side being offset outwardly for looking engagement with said shank.

2. A cuff button comprising a shank, an arcuate link member adjustably mounted on said shank and having an outwardly extended offset portion formed on its concave side to lock said link member in adjusted position upon said shank.

3. A cufi' button comprising a shank, an arcuate link member slidably engaged through one end of said shank, a head formed upon the opposite end of said shank, said arcuate link including parallel concave and convex side portions, the concave side portion having its center pressed outwardly to form a locking recess for the first mentioned end of the shank and prevent longitudinal movement of said link through said shank, the ends of the concave side of said link cooperating with the under-face of the head of said button to retain the same in binding engagement with the opposite sides of the member through which the shank is engaged and prevent turning of said button.
