LABSSON, L subject of Sweden, residing at Beverly, 1n the county of Essex and Stateof Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Foldable Umbrellas, of which the following is a specification; This invention relates to an improvement in foldable umbrellas and the primary'object thereof is to providein a foldable umbrella novel bracing means which are connected through a runner. to the ribs and the cloth of the umbrella and are slidably and foldably arranged to occupy'but little compass when the umbrella is folded compactly and not in use. p I y y The purpose of the invention is to construct a simple, inexpensive foldable umbrella in which thep'a rts will positively be held in locked position when unfolded.

With the above andother objects in view my invention consists in the combination, arrangement, and details j of construct on clearly shown in the'drawings and "then more particularly pointed out in the appended claims. V

In the hollow rod 2 the hollow rod 3 is slidably mounted in telescoping relation and in the hollow rod 3 is similarly disposed the hollow rod 6 forming, as shown in Fig. 5 the uppermost end of the handle.
