This invention relates more particularly to a classof spinning or humming tops which heretofore werev niadeto rota-'te by a 'rapid unwinding of a string wound about the top or its handle before it is' thrown, or dropped, or made to rotate by means of a spring or`whip. l

My invent-ion has for its object primarily to provide a toy wherein a top is adapted to be used in conJunction with a gun or toy'- pis'tolfrom which it is shot so that it will rotate rapidly and for a considerable length of time upon the ground or othersuitable place, `and which is designed to aiford a. great deal of pleasure and amusement especiallyto children in that practically no skill or previous instruction is required in order toknow the manner of manipulating the to further object' of the invention is to of simple,inexpensive and efficient construction, and which' is susceptible of being made so as to be very durable.
